Just thought I would ask if anyone uses DIDECYLDIMETHYLAMMONIUM CHLORIDE on k render walls etc ?
Apparently it's the active ingredient in algoclear http://www.roofclean.co.uk/pdf/AlgoClear-Pro-Safety-Datasheet-2014.pdf and is cheaper to buy and more concentrated.

It isn't about the active ingredients it is about the way it is mixed, in what ratios and what with!  I have chemists who make products for us who are very clever people but you cannot simply give them a product and ask them to Back engineer it.  e.g.  Coca Cola has phosphoric acid in it as an ingredient but you wouldn't  drink Phosphoric Acid no matter how diluted would you?  It is not quite as simple as you think.

We spent 5 years getting our High Alkaline Cleaner to work as it does today but there are dozens of High Alkaline Cleaners available on the market.   The basic  R&D is probably the same in most of them to a point but it is what you add and how you add it that makes a difference!

Chris,I expect nothing you've not been called before.

Kevin, I can supply the recipe for most cola's but the phosphoric ratio bepends on how hard the water its made with. The water softening is the scarey bit of your worried about the acids ! We used to bottle for Virgin cola and we had to use acid regen on the softening plant. Your right you would'nt drink it if you knew about the different colours, sweeteners and most of all velcorin !

Carl

I would never drink coke ever!  After once cleaning a Porcelain Floor in a nightclub I asked the manager what the 6 buckets of brown stuff were behind the bar and he said "That is all the waste cola left behind that the staff had collected"  I asked why and he said " Before we leave every night we pour it equally into each of the toilets cos there is something in it that leaves the toilets lovely"   ;D  My son drinks gallons of the sh*t ::)roll

Smurf,
I've got to be honest and did the same thing as you and researched the active ingredient in   algoclear type products to see if I could buy it in a concentrated form from mistral.

They do a couple of quat type chemicals, the one you listed and BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE - ALKYL DIMETHYL BENZYL AMMONIUM CHLORIDE.

I have this at home now (it was delivered yesterday)  I actually think this is the wrong one. the link you listed is what I should have bought.

I'm spending a few days in the Yorkshire Dales walking at the moment why I get back I will be testing it

Well it seems algoclear is just http://mistralni.co.uk/collections/biocides/products/didecyldimethylammonium-chloride that has just been relabled and sold at a handsome profit. That is unless anyone knows different for sure.
