I have Payatrader and have used it all of 3 times in 30 months.
I now just give them bank details to pay me via online banking...it costs nothing and is there straight away.

I don't get asked enough to warrant card payments and most peops pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer.

This is interesting though, Barclays have rolled out a system whereby you take a cheque and take a photo of it on yer smartphone and then send the image to the bank using an app. Apparently the cheque goes through in 2 days as opposed to 7 days.

I hope this catches on a bit more especially with my bank Santander as it would save me a lot of traipsing about!

Don't bother with it Steve you won't use it enough to warrant it and you'll get charged a fee.
Bank transfers all the way, everybody who matters are geared up for it now, by that I mean letting agents etc

World pay zinc is £79.99 for the terminal, please note the terminal has a digital reader which is great as the customer can see the amount where as with others they have to key in on your phone.

once you've bought the terminal its yours and there are no other fees except a 2.75% fee on all your transactions.
Ive got world pay zinc and its great for me, if i was taking lots of card payments i would consider a rental type with low percentage but because i only take 5 or 6 card payments a month it serves me well. i can advertise i take card which helps and i can tell EOT's that its cash or card, NO cheques,  ;D

i hghly recomend WPZ, had no problems and can also take card payment over the phone when logged into my account, money is in my account in 3 working days, totally hassle free.

If you fancy it and want a tenner off then use this code FR559392 when signing up.

At the moment you can only pay barclays cheques into a barclays account via imaging so it isn't a complete solution yet.  Should be fully working across different banks next year when it should be a very useful service.  Barclays own website says

I've jut cleaned for a regular and he said "cheque or cash?" so i said "cheques fine",  he then produced the cheque and said, "the last cheque i wrote in my cheque book was 12 months ago and it was to you"  :o
