 Hi I'm looking for some advice on cleaning a Laura Ashley rug that is 55% wool and 45% viscose/rayon.  What is thhe best way to go about this? Any advice please.

hi
if this is the one that is flat, you cant wand it as the rug is so light and so "flexible"
then do not overwet, litgh mist of gentle chems, agitate with brush a bit and extract with hand tool, cfr does very good job here
do not overwet these thicker sides as they will wave
charge premium price

On rugs we always find out what they paid for them some times it just not worth spending a lot of time and efforts if its a cheap and cheerful rug from Dunelm.

Some of the Laura Ashley rug are not that expensive and with a viscose content can be more trouble to clean especially if it goes wrong.

Hi Aron Alltec, just down the road from you are holding a rug cleaning course soon might be worth a call.
I would vac for England both sides then test for colour bleed etc. Obviously the viscose and rayon are an isue so I would give it a light mist of a ph neutral pre spray gently agitate with a hand mitt then extract using a hand tool careful not to overwet then dry quick as poss. That is quite a high amount of viscose though might be tempted to go low moisture may even consider encap. Hard to tell without seeing it.

Aaron have you considered adding organic(dry) sponges to your arsenal.I get some very good results with vac /throw  sponges down on rug/brush in with pile brush/wait 30 mins/vac really well to ensure all sponges out............get paid........................Alan(Swindon)

Light neutral prespray. Cold water rinse with Prochem F&F with hand tool. No problems

Thanks for all the advice guys it's much appreciated,? However I have decided to pass on this job as I am a newbie and didn't want the hassle if it did go wrong.

Need to do another course or two in the coming months
