Carpet Moth
« on: July 02, 2015, 06:43:21 pm »
Is it me or is there a massive increase in the amount of carpet moth around. In the past 2 months I have had 6 jobs with relatively sizable infestations.

The shocking thing is some of the customers don't seem to get the gravity of their situation and want to be half hearted about treating it.

I see loads of moth damage  where I am and your right the customers mostly don't see the value in getting it dealt with.

i had a customer call me up and tell me they had a problem and that they had eaten her cashmere jumper, after a conversation i gave her the price to clean and treat, her "really, that much!" me " how much was the cashmere jumper?" her " yeah your right, when can you come and do it?"

Another I did this week but i told her 2 years ago when i cleaned her four bedrooms, she didn't want the stairs doing because it was brand new carpet, the place was absolutely crawling with them and i suggested she sort the problem before they damaged her brand new carpet but to no avail.  Treated it this week but it was completely destroyed.

What product are you using to deal with them?

Have encountered about 3 infestations a month over last two years. Spent larvae found underneath furniture where dust gathers. I treat with bio clean  or mpower - 100% success as i follow up.

I use Chemspec Chemtreat plus,

Mpower or biocleane will definatly not remedy carpet moth especially if only applied to the top of the carpet. I would highly recommend doing the Chemspec Chemtreat Course... it is an eye opener.

I'm afraid Mpower won't penetrate the eggs jacko, you need to break the cycle.

Jacko
you have very unrealistic expectations of m power . it will not  treat a flea infestation or moths. I would suggest some training.
