Hi, am slowly but surely venturing into the world of hard floor cleaning. It will not be full time but to supplement the other work we do. Is a twin speed rotary the way to go to combine with bonnet ing etc for the carpets? Are they heavy enough to cope with basic strip and seals with added weights etc or will you only achieve average results? Trying to avoid 2 machines if possible but not against having to get 2.

Thanks all!

Hi Dan,

A twin speed machine will be sufficient for bonnet cleaning and general floor maintenance but may be limited when it comes to restorative work on stone floors in comparison to a heavier single speed machine.

It is not often you need a high speed as its usually only for buffing topical sealers as most other tasks are best performed at a lower speed.

If you have a good dual speed machine available to you it will be a worthwhile purchase. If you are considering buying new I would look at buying a heavier slow speed machine as your initial purchase. Not all dual speeds will take weights but a few low speed machines do..
