Ive read so much bad about how dangerous it is etc....
Been out with an oven cleaner who used it and he didnt even wear gloves! I thought it would melt your hands but he just rinsed it off.
It did the job too.....
Is it as bad as its made out to be?

It's caustic & caustic doesn't like skin     ,  put a bit on your skin then you'll soon find out
Rinsing caustic off with cold water won't achieve anything , it needs to be neutralised  IE vinegar  or other suitable

The guy's either very brave or very stupid

He brushed in the clover, bladed/scraped it etc. Rinsed it out with soapy water (fairy liquid) then used a degreaser.
Surely wearing gauntlets eliminates the danger of skin contact.
Also i must say the oven looked  new and it didn't take him long at all.

Reminded me of my late father, used to use Nitromors paint remover a lot as he ran a sand blasting business,, and he once needed to have a pee, so went round the corner to some brushes, and a second later we heard a loud crying pain !!!   ;D     I really miss the old fella  :'(

Hi Steven, all oven cleaners on the market are based on sodium hydroxide which is also used in many products which are recommended to use on surfaces on this forum many times which is ridiculous, sodium hydroxide is really nasty and needs to be used with extreme caution on any of your customers surfaces.
