Steven I think you've been mislead heat makes all things clean faster and better, you will accelerate the cleaning pie and use less product to boot.

Why do you think us sceptics have moved away? There are some good products in every range but for every product to be sublime from one small cleaning supplier I mean why would a big player like Chemspec put millions into the industry?

i always use hot water in tank, and most (not all)  of the chems i use need heat to activate them dont they???
my next addition to the storm is an in line heater when i have £500 spare.............

just picked up the Storm today frm JK
As for the mytee turbo heater, lets just say  I got it for a price I couldnt refuse, I did order a magna initialy but there was a cock up with some parts and it was going to be another month or so before it materialised , so I opted for the Mytee as a replacement

I think as Derek, Heat speeds things up and cut's through dirt better. Think of last nights tea and plate needs washing if you run just under cold tap not much happens but run under nice hot tap and it starts to remove the dirt so heat obviously help. (and yes i have done this lol)

Heat equals energy. The molecules in hot water are moving around a lot faster. This increases the wetting action. Try pouring some cold water onto a carpet tile, most of it just runs off. Pour some hot on and it sinks straight in. Also evaporation requires energy, hot water already has that so requires a lot less than cold to start the drying process.

Someone mentioned the cleaning "pie" earlier. If you reduce the heat section of the pie you will need to compensate by increasing one or more of the other parts of the pie. This is usually done by increased agitation and more chemical.
I very often do EOT carpet cleaning and I must admit that I get good results without heat.
