Sometimes the nut behind the steering wheel causes problems.
It's a game of three halves!

I had Connect lwb T? Heavier one!  Over 100k good van and mechanic never pointed out anything to watch out for other than a belt that had been replaced anyway.
Full history showed starter motor changed around 60-70k belt around 70-80k I replaced the clutch and full exhaust around 90k?
Few petty things in-between.
I'm not a 'Transit van' fan but I was comfortable with it.

i love mine.changed cambelt last year when i bought it.ive had to buy a new starter motor and alternator though and i also put a new battery and 4 new tyres on it.

good solid van though and loads of room in the back.good payload and high roof for your poles.

perfect for a sole trader and 500L tank.

i had it serviced a few months ago.fresh oil and new fuel filter and it got rid of the plumes of black smoke that used to blow out the back when putting my foot on the gas! ;D
price higher/work harder!

My swb connect had a water pump go at 85,000 miles. Not bad as I've had it over 6 years. Did the cambelt and everything at the same time. Clutch needs sorting soon 90,000 miles. Good van. My mate has the t230, good as gold.

Had my connect for 4 years with no hassles at all. Good van besides tyres, fan belt and oil changes have not spent a penny.

Had mine for 4 1/2yrs so far and alls good. Only done 75,000 on a 54 plate.  Had my rear end of sills welded up both sides of van. That's it. Serviced yearly.  Good workhorse. Very reliable.  Not fantastic in the mpg department 40ish. OK with that personally.

Ive had my T230 connect nearly three years now, 04 plate and still only 74,000 miles, had to have the brake pipes replaced
last year as they had rusted, the gearbox is a little bit noisy, the mechanic said its the differentials whatever that is, ( I'm not very mechanically minded) and that eventually the the gearbox would have to be reconditioned, other than that i am pleased with it,
it is a good workhorse.
