Help with Water Purification problem!!!!
« on: June 09, 2015, 06:24:37 pm »
So basically i have a small problem, and thought i would ask you guys what you think i should do.

Tomorrow is my last working day this week but i have £150 of work to do all WFP for upstairs Trad downstairs.  All regulars except 2 are new customers.

So i was filling my barrels like an hour ago, because i use the Pure Freedom Trolley setup and the water is really good in my area so i only need to use a DI Vessel as standard.  Filled my first barrell and the TDS read 3 parts, so i thought right thats good enough i will change it this weekend.  The water was coming out of the tap slow and i was in a rush to get home so i turned it up to fill the barrels up quickly.  After filling the 3rd barrell i checked the tds and it said 21!!!!!!!  I panicked and turned down the pressure of the tap and filled another 5 barrellls which is all i need.  The next 2 barrells did at around 9-15 and the last 2 barrels was like 15-20.  First of all, i had no idea that if you turn the tap up to a much faster speed it can effect how well the water is being purified???  I think this has ruined the resin or something.

I have never cleaned windows before with anything more than 6-8 parts on the TDS so my question is can i get away with doing the full day of work tomorrow with barrels ranging from 10-20 on the tds or will there be tons of Spotting and will it do a really bad job???

Am i going to get tons of complaints or is 20 on the tds okay as a one off for a days work.  I will be changing the resin after tomorrow if that is the case.  Otherwise i will have to empty all the barrels tomorrow morning and refill them all, which is going to take me around 60-90 minutes as my office is 20 mins from where im working tomorrow.

What would you do guys????  FYI i use Tulsion resin from Pure Freedom and the current DI Vessel i haven't changed the resin for about 1-2 months as it has been fine unti the incident i have had today.

Thanks
Josh

i think you ll be ok mate.i worked with 35 tds once accidently and had no complaints.

ive learnt a few things over the years.i ALWAYS take a tds reading  without fail every day after filling up my tank now.

run the water through the DI vessel(s) slower if you want to make your resin last longer and use double DI when your resin starts to rise.also always have some spare fresh resin in your garage/storage space.
price higher/work harder!

I think you will be fine too, I used water with a tds of 78ppm once, and had no complaints.

Give the D.I a good shake, you'll get another couple of days i reckon

Water creates channels in the resin, and as a result you wont use all the resin, so giving it a good shake will get rid of them
Also yeah, higher water flow will destroy resin quicker
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?
