Made an error.
« on: June 05, 2015, 07:09:51 pm »
I made an error with my pricing up of a moss removal from a front roof (4 bed detached) and a double garage, started it today with two of us and armed with brushes and scrapers, grafted and all we got finished was the garage!
Need an idea to complete the house in one day otherwise I'll be doing it for nothing >:(
Any suggestions apart from 'call in the professionals' would be welcomed  ;D

I have a whole road of detached houses where I think there may be a good chance to get some custom, don't mind paying out initially if it then gives me the opportunity to get through the workload much quicker.

They speed the job up whilst keeping you safe - which is the MOST important thing when working at height - adjustment allows them to sit correctly on the roof etc.

I wouldn't buy second hand as you can never tell how worn the head units are until they go and thats essentially a £400 repair bill.....

The Mosmatics are not actually that good on thick moss. Turbo nozzle is the most efficient way..at a risk of damaging the roof.

It's a turbo nozzle on a waterfed pole…You aren't missing anything.

Oh bugger I thought for a moment some one had reinvented the wheel :D I've seen people turn WFP into extending lances - bloody dangerous if not done carefully I should imagine    ;D

A little bit more than just a turbo nozzle, he's got a full fsc on the end of one   ;D

No ones kidding no one here this is a great little set up, I think he's using clx 27

I never used one of them poles but an old dirty brodex weapon would certainly be strong enough, obviously not extending the sections right out....... So a 27' pole becomes an 18' with a fsc on it nice and tight.

easy to change a clx into a extending powerwash pole, also if you put an adjustable angle adapter at the end you can then fit any nozzle or a small FSC and use at any angle needed which is perfect for roofs. I first made mine about four years ago then Lee at blastaway made one for himself after seeing mine I think others have seen Lees videos since then and copied the idea.
Some are having the hose on the exterior of the pole but it is much better on the interior as it gives pole extra strength so it does not bend as much when used at full height.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

Do you have a link for this please, really want to do this myself, turned a couple of roof cleaning jobs down as I don't have the gear !
