We have all done the high priced job that takes 2 hours but you have to be able to justify the cost against work involved to the customer, they may be pleased with your work  but  when times are tough they will shop around, speak to friends and you will be under cut by someone who will do an equally good job at less money. I would rather encourage the customer to use us more frequently at a Lower cost per clean. I find this generates more profit because 3 or 4 cleans at  £250.00 if better than a one off at £400. I have found this also leads to add on's , upholstery etc.

Radek
where on earth do you get your information from ? I charge £130 for a lounge/ diner and staircase with no bedrooms
but  at least 75% of my work is commercial so I dont worry about one offs ! I am not interested in cleaning pubs for nothing, if you want a filthy pub for £250 or less go ahead and do it,
I get better quality jobs that pay good rates

As John said beware chewing gum.to help you

£2.50 a square metre. Hot prespray, agitatation and hot water extraction. You should be able to do 50sqm hour, and it will take you 3 to 31/2 houirs to do properly. Never used a cimex but I would have thought that encap would not be the way to clean the pub. I would also consider how much extra it would take to move the chairs and you can always ask nicely if there would be anyone else to help you move the furniture. I would give them say 10 pieces of chewing gum included in the price then charge 50p a wad for any more that is found after that.
I would then finish off with a bonnet with a little surround or dynamall to shine it off.
As for doing it cheap and hoping you get it next time I would offer to do a test clean so you see what happens and then sell it as the finished product. It then tells you how long/hard it is. If you do a cracking job and they are bowled over by the result the price is worth paying especially if you test clean first.
I clean a real ale pub and they want a quality job......I have also missed out on pubs that want a cheap job and then moan that it was not very good.
If you take the trouble on the first few quotes and dont be frightened then you will get the job.
One last point on some of these carpets you need real heat to tackle them. That is why most of them are done with a truckmount and even then it can be a pain.
Starts at the bottom likes it and stays there

Like I said good luck to you if you are achieving those prices, I suppose it boils down to how busy you want to be or how many jobs a week you are doing. I base my cost for commercial on several factors, a big one is frequency of clean. I like the fact that I can predict my work due to the number of cleans I do, for instance I have some offices I do 6 hours a month at £352 per month fixed cost, add to this office chairs at £5 per chair (prob do 30 a month) and then the dinning chairs at £3.00 each 3 times a year and I am happy at this.

Your marketing and sales must be well targeted to reach customers who are prepared to pay.
