guys im strongly considering purchasing a new VW caddy 1.6 75hp

Payload is 800kg

Does anyone have one and is it sufficient to put 400 litre tank in?

I kno its well within payload but will van be laboured when driving around with this load because of the weight?

Well my 2006 Doblo 1.3 multijet was fine with a 400L for 5 years. Then for six months it was fine with a 400L and a trailer with an extra 200L and an extra man! And now its fine with a 400 on its own again.

So if a modern  1.6 can't manage it there's something wrong.

Ah i was just doing some research and some guys complaining about a lack of power in caddh but what your saying is right

its because the caddy weighs a lot more than a doblo before you add any load weight, 250-300kg more and it only has 25nm more torque than the doblo 1.3

It will manage it ok, but the 102ps will manage it a lot better

Yes,  it will take 400 litre tank with cage. It will be a bit slower than 102ps. Have 08 plate caddy since it was two years old and apart from clutch and brakes it's been good. Bump stops tend to wear out every 2 years on the back suspension due to weight it carries. It's driven by an employee.

I have a 2009 CADDY C20 PLUS SDI (payload weight 767kg) with a 400 litre Ionics Pure2o system installed.

Handles just fine, doesn't struggle at all, even when full.
