« on: May 16, 2015, 12:43:09 pm »
Considering buying a power reel

Is there anyone that has had  running for a while....Has it been reliable? does it effect the battery more so than just running pumps?

ive had one for the past few months and its no bother only thing that ive changed is the fuse holder to sade type.ive a split charger .so my battery is always charging.keep an eye on it when reeling in as its easey to snag .keep spare fuses .

Dazmond, what fitting do you have from your pump to the redashe reel? I bought one yesterday and it has a threaded female fitting as the water inlet. I have only ever had the cheaper reels with the hozelock fittings before.

I had a problem with my controller but once that was sorted it worked even better
I try and make my life as easy as I can ibuy the lightest poles I can get to save wear on my arms and I did the same with the reel how many times do you pull that hose out and after going to the window cleaning show in Dorset last week I got a remote control unit for the reel not cheap but again if it makes my life easier how can I put a price on that , to any one thinking about getting one stop thinking and just do it once ya got it you won't want to work with out it

Is it a case of wiring red and black to the battery when it's setup, and what's the problem with it blowing fuses.

like marc, i have the power up and remote control and think its worth the money, just on energy and wear and tear to the body alone, these are long term investments, just like the extreme pole i have, its, to me, all about making life easier

you need a 3/4 thread fitting mate.gardiners sell them.i use a male rectus 26 fittings on mine

what are these elec reels like when pulling the hose out, is there more resistance than usual with the motor attached and can you control the speed at what it reels in or is it just a button you press to turn the motor on and off?

Just think about how easy it will be sitting or standing at the back of the van on a hot day pressing a button watching a 100 meters come in on its own lol
