« on: May 08, 2015, 03:04:06 pm »
Hi Guys, need help, does anybody know what make this rotary cleaner is?
I bought it at auction and works well, but when not been used for a while it wont rotate unless I drown the center peice in WD40 of similar. Once its going its great.
I think it needs re greasing but there is no grease nipple.
My eventually have to replace rotator unit or whatever its called (center bit)
Any and help much appreciated.

Hi,

What you have there is a Chinese repro of a mosmatic product which are imported by several companies within the UK.

The head unit on these is a wear part and should last about two years in my experience of them.  (They are actually pretty good)

Yours has been changed to have a tri bar fitted, originally it would have been a twin.

A complete head unit (middle bit) should be about £60. They are non-greasable in the same way that Mos are sealed units.

The need to drown in WD is likely due to one of the ceramic bearing / seal trims picking up on the shaft. If it was a Whirlaway copy it could be rebuilt but Mos are not really designed for maintenance.

Any more questions do ask - see parts diagram attached.
