Which is the BEST system ?
« on: May 08, 2015, 02:59:36 pm »
Which is the best water tank system on the market folks both the system design & overall cost ? Such a variety out there...ionics I feel were market leaders in this business(along with their now cheaper pure2o range)
Then there's brodex which a robust kits...

But gardiners are by far market leaders when it comes to water fed poles (oh & service!)
But little difficult sometimes to chose best overall...which is yours & why  ???

You'd have to go a long way to beat Grippatank in terms of quality and customer service.

We have 4 vans, all systems supplied by them, and wouldn't go anywhere else. The back up is simply second to none.

The original system was designed by Gardiners, do that should give you a bit of an idea of the quality behind the set up.

Cant understand why they dont do Honeycombe baffle tanks to sell on their own like a 400-500 litre flat tank  as the lower centre of gravity of a flat tank is far safer ,  But they still quite happy to sell Wyedale tanks .

Make your own and save your money for other upgrades, next time we get another van I won't buy off the shelf again.

"Best" is subjective.  It can mean which toys you want with it or not (heater, electric flow control, pump brand preference etc.).  It can be about tank shape (lay flat, upright,  custom, other).
So many choices and all depend on indivdual opinions.
Then you mention the cost.
If you want the best AND the cheapest, you won't get it - well, that's what I tell MY customers anyway.

Only trouble is I live near Durham  the company I would be likely to use is about 12hr+ round trip .

I will have to make more enquires to check whether it is worth the round trip .

£3,000  :'( :'(.   Upon reflection I simply want a tank I can remove in a few minutes when we go on our hols .

I don't have the same issues as van owners , Mine is going in the load bed of an L200 were their is hardly any room for a 400 - 600 litre tank to move .

I had a system fitted by a company near Durham (Fishburn) this was nearly 10 years ago though. They traded under the name "Stream" might be worth seeing if they are still in business as their local to you?

The "Best" system is the one that works for you.

Work out what you want from a system. Then choose the company who can match your requirements!

im very happy with my system.

500l upright tank and frame  £500(including fitting at my local garage)

streamline pumpbox with digital flow controller(£300)

2 reels and hose(£350)

2 DI vessels(£150)

so around £1300

ive spent a lot more money on hi modulus carbon poles and brushes than my actual system(around £2500)over the last few years.

each to their own but i dont see the point of spending a lot on  a tank when its being fitted in a used van that i will probably only have for 4 or 5 years.

im DI only though so that helps with ease of purifying my water in mega quick time every evening.

ive also spent money on a boiler, hot water hose, gas etc,etc but decided i wont be using hot water anymore as it simply isnt needed and its extra expense that i can do without. :)
price higher/work harder!

There is no BEST one. It's what suits you, and what you want to spend.

I have a simple 400L tank, a hosereel, pump, fishing poles and that's it.
Probably cost under £800, and I can clean windows just as fast and just as well as anyone else...
