As the title says - what in the ideal world do you want from a Pressure Washer?

Is there something the manufacturers are missing or doing wrong? Is there something about the designs or accessories you wish some one would stop doing? Building a machine is usually based on what can we get from a particular engine but I thought it would be a good idea to actually ask, quite seriously, the boys that use them day in day out as from what I gather you chaps have very little input on the products which go to market.

I would want a hot and cold machine mounted on a frame with no wheels on that can either be used from the rear or side door of a van and have reels mounted on top and 250 bar at 30 lpm would be nice!

When I bought my machine I relied on the supplier helping me out, which he did so 

I am not very experienced enough yet to advise

I'd love to see a garden tap supply 30LPM - more dream world than an ideal one though...... you could ask the waterboard to put in a hydrant for you?

I would imagine that the above system does exist - some one like SUPERJET specialise in Van pack units from 150 to 3500 Bar

No you couldn't afford to run one you'd be looking at 7-10 litres per hour on that engine! Bloody ridiculous Honda design that one!

 Yes and no, I have worked for one of the UK's leading suppliers but have also done a limited amount for a cleaning company doing chicken sheds and meat plants to drives and gutters etc.

I now work for a company which does supply the industry, my main reason for joining this forum was to personally learn as much about your side of the job as possible to support customers who come to me with little or limited knowledge and experience / specialist questions and if whilst I'm here I can provide diagrams and parts breakdowns etc I though it might help.
At the moment we manufacture machines hence my question, the idea being that we get something into the market place which is the best it can be for the use the machines get instead of just matching a pump and motor to a price bracket.

I can also provide info on the engineering side of these machines as there is so much contradicting information around that more often than not seeing the wood for the trees is impossible!

Most are guided into twin feed 202's on underpowered engines or end up buying crapoff ebay or Chinese via  Ireland .

Bloody dual feed system!
If you feed a machine properly there is nothing to stop you getting 30LPM plus on 1" bore hose.

The 13HP Honda are not built well enough anymore to get the HP where it needs to be. Running at such high revs they run rough and drink fuel.
We get 250 Bar @ 23LPM from a 14HP V-Twin Briggs & Stratton @ 1.8L per hour at full chatt on a WS252.

What does all that mean

I just connect me hoses together fill up with fuel and pull me cord. It's red on one side pump on other haha baffles me all this stuff, if I need no anything I have to go find email off supplier ,

Series engine is an cracking little engine on the evo pumps not many supply Briggs but they are fast surpassing Honda on all counts.

Hi Rob I will get you a link in the morning - there is a choice of trolley / frame types, available as a 16HP V-twin too.

Electric start is all well and good but only really necessary on 18HP plus unless you have a bad back of course

Biggs ? I have three 14 hp Kohlers sat in the unit and would never drean of using petrol when a diesel gives a whole day for less than a tenner. 30 ltrs is great when your sat next to a hydrant but most of my pressure washing is domestic so a 21 ltr suits better. I have a LDW502 / 202 and I would have another. I have sheared the stub shaft which is the only fault but it have a few hours on it - only takes about 15 mins to change. I also had a seal go on the gearbox.
I am an engineer by trade and I have a friend with a machine shop so lifes easy but I'd struggle round here finding someone to fix the machines
