DoorKnockers
« on: April 30, 2006, 01:36:14 pm »
Subject to my post on April 6th 2006. I thought i would give doorknockers a try, and although i was a little concerned as to how genuine they are and  the amount of money that i would have to part with, i took the gamble and asked them to find me a small round to begin with, and although some of my customers that they signed up had a window cleaner already, the rest of my customers are genuine and i now have a small local round.
When i spoke to Paul about the minority of customers that had a window cleaner already he was very surprised to hear this, but true to his word he will make up the difference.
So a BIG THUMBS UP to doorknockers as the are reliable and friendly, and i recommend them to anyone that is looking to build up a round, but hasn't got the time to find it themselves, and i will be looking at doorknockers again to find me a larger round in the next few weeks.

Cheers Doorknookes

I'll second that. Doorknockers have helped me to build a very profitable round in a small space of time. They're not 'miracle-workers' but they do have a happy knack of bringing on good customers, in a compact area.

I've used them to get established and will now canvas additional areas to build my work up.

In addition to this, I've asked Doorknockers to build me another round worth about £3,000 and they should have this done in no time at all.

If any of you out there are thinking about using them - I heartily recommend you give them a go!

No we do not sign up other window cleaners customers!!

Sometimes other customers are signed up in error, no business is 100% perfect!

Our policy is to sign up customers who are looking for one.

We are'nt in the business of window cleaner wars or turf wars, just good solid round building for those who have'nt got the time to get out there themselves.

Anyway, Rik and Paul from SMP, Thanks for those positive comments, Doorknockers appreciate your custom, and look forward to working with you both again soon.

Paul   ;)

NO THAT IS NOT WHAT I SAID, that is not their policy to do that, all i have said that in spite of my first reservations, Doorknockers are very genuine and and true to their word.

Hi DC

I know you addressed your question to SMP, but I'll throw my tuppence in (for what it's worth)

I identified an area for Paul and asked him to canvas every house, excluding those with treacherous overhangs and any other obstacles. He then blitzes the area and signs up as many people as possible.

Initially I was concerned that he'd go in at silly prices, but far from it. Most of the work he picks up is at a better rate than I would charge if I had done the canvassing. Occasionally I think he's slightly underpriced, but overall he more than makes up for it with the other houses.

When they've done canvassing, they hand you a list of all the people who've signed up, phone numbers and any notes (access, payment method etc).

I normally ring round all the customers to introduce myself (or get the missus to do it) and after that, you just go and clean the windows as normal.

Anyone who drops out in the first 2 months, Paul will replace for you. Or, if you think he's grossly mispriced you can ask him to canvas a replacement (but as I say this has only happened once in all my dealings with him)

As for speed, I needed to build up slowly, so Paul did the work for me piecemeal, now I've found a business partner with a bit of money to his name, I'm getting a lot more done in a shorter time frame. So it really does depend how fast you want to grow the business.

The only area that Doorknockers lose points, is Paul seems to take an eternity answering emails, so it's best to pester him on his mobile or with texts --- hope this all helps

I got Doorknockers to get me £1500 worth of work which they took 3 days a week over 3 weeks to get me. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. I've door knocked myself and it doesn't bother me doing it, but i've got a 3yo girl who i like to see in the evenings, so i got them involved.
They don't pinch customers from other window cleaners, its the customers who lie to them and us. At the moment Paul is getting me additional work and replacing the cancellation customers.

Sorry about the e-mails bit Rik!  but when we are away in places such as worcester, Leamington and Sunderland, i am not able to check my e-mails til i get back, and there are loads to go through!

Best way to get hold of me at all times is my mobile, which for anyone who needs it is 07862 271852

 Hi David,

Yes its pretty much as Holland 1945 has mentioned,  and dont forget to ring round your new customers the day after to introduce yourself and tell them when you will first clean their windows, the length of time to find a round pretty much depends on the amount of income you want from it.

Just dont forget to offer them a cup of tea though after their hard efforts.  :)

And Paul sorry if Poleman was missled by what i said, but you always get one.
