Anyone bought Gardiners pole hose in the last week?
« on: April 19, 2015, 08:11:11 am »
The all season stuff - they have a new batch in by the looks of it. Is it ok? The last lot I've got leaves a lot to be desired.

Alex, tap in hose in the search box - strange results are happening (everything starts with a 'J') maybe it's for the Spanish market?

I have I really like it. I replaced the horrible electrical cable type hose that came with it ( mkII SLX bought when they first came out i think its 3 years now) that used to knot itself up all the time.
I also had that luminous yellow stuff too not really a fan of that either...
BUT I really like this pole hose no kinking or memory really. Best I have used.

Ahhha excellent.

I bought a new pole last week and the  hose looked different but i haven't used the pole yet.

I sent two coils of hose back to Alex end of February. So guessing he has tweaked the formula.

One coil was clearly easier to use than the other.

Having said that. Alex sent me a new role of 30M all season pole hose. That was in February and it was great to use.

Do you think it's tough enough to be used in 100m lengths  and do away with microbore

We bought our second pole from gardiners about 15 months ago. The pole hose is horrendous. It came coiled and has continued to try and stay coiled over this period of time. As you pull the pole around, the hose follows in one coiled heap, and catches on every corner brickwork, tyre or wheelie bin. Its the orange pole hose. Even at times of climbing up a ladder to get on a flat roof, the hose stays as one lump, the coils persistently catch on the ladder. Horrible stuff, wish there was a way of straightening this out and hope the new stuff is better ?. Anyone knows a method of successfully straightening it please let me know :). Have never mentioned this before as I thought it was the norm.....but obviously there are others with the same probs ?
If Carlsberg made window cleaners....I'd be one of them....lol

Just ordered 100m fingers crossed.
I have a new 18 foot SLX and the hose has never been normal even in this warm weather, absolutely useless. My Extreme 44 has the same branded stuff I put several months back and hasn't been too bad.

I don't think so Tony..  A Rose bush or similar could do damage, also dragging round corners would stretch & chafe it I imagine.

the orange stuff i find is decent when its got hot water going through it to soften it up but ive gone back to all season as i dont have my heated water that hot anymore and find the all season perfect for me no kinking etc only problem is me stepping on it alot while im cleaning away and stopping the flow!
