Dreaded Leaded :'(
« on: April 28, 2006, 09:58:34 pm »
Evening all, i've just finished 1st week with WFP and all i can say is WOW, WOW, WOW its so quick i always dreaded doing leaded windows the trad way but know they only take half the time if that and i've got quite a few  :(. just 1 question what happens if the lead comes away from the window? Before with trad i could sort it out but being 15ft lower i'm having problems, any idea's?

Don't brush to hard on windows with dodgy stuck on lead.
I never seem to get a problem with these.

I have a couple of customers that have real lead windows that bend when you clean them i did try and use WFP on them but they always seem to leak so i have to do these one's by hand.

Just just mind the real lead windows that are several hundred years old

We do loads of both stuck on and very old leaded.

A VERY light touch with the brush does the trick just fine for us if the lead is peeling or its very old bendy stuff.

Try cutting the flow rate down on any leaky ones. It usually works.

Cheers

Thanks andrew i will try that and see how we go as it would be a lot better if i could use WFP on the old type.
