Render clean with ivy remains any tips ?
« on: March 28, 2015, 04:12:12 pm »
Hi guys,

Looking at a render clean small mid terraced house with smooth rendering, the lower half has had ivy growing over it, which has been removed but has left fibrous roots behind.

I'm not committed to the clean and said I would do a small test area, as I'm concerned I will damage the render while removing the ivy remains.

Is there anything I can do to help ease this stuff off, or is it really just a means or pressure washing and hoping the render will withstand the assault ?

Cheers
Darran

yes just adjust your power as long as the render is not mainly sand the turbo nozzle will give a less direct clean zone than a fan nozzle test patch then quote hope helps

If it is through coloured render and you use a turbo you will likely etch the surface and leave it in a right mess - I wouldn't even consider using a turbo!
If you are talking about concrete render that has been painted you could use a turbo if you are careful, but it will need to be repainted.
