No don't trad it next time, just keep poling and working on your technique and things will improve.
As long as you remember that nearly all spotting and streaking comes from the top frame you'll soon recognise which windows cause problems and the right technique to deal with it.

did the window in question have 2 small openers above it?be careful.dont clean down the middle of the openers as 9 times out of 10 you ll leave a run down the middle of the  lower pane.i had loads of complaints when i first started due to this problem.

I agree with Dazmond.
If you do get water in between the two openers you will have to wait a while (until drips stop) before cleaning the lower section of glass.
I have jobs where this happens and I will clean the two openers then clean some other upstairs windows on the property then go back to the problem window and clean the lower glass section.
You will get to know the problem windows on your round as you get more experienced with wfp.

That's bad advice imo...

Just be very thorough in cleaning down the middle of the openers if it's cleaned right they won't leave marks...I have loads of these type of windows on my round and have no problems...
If you don't clean down the middle it's gonna be dirty and look a mess.

Another problem that you might also get is when you clean the frame above these openers.
The water can sit on top of the opener and drip down between the two when you leave, once you have rinsed rub the
brush without running water along the top to clean off any water that accumulated.

Its excellent advice, its not dirt left between the frame that causes the runs it degraded rubber seals so it doesn't matter how
careful or through you are it wont make a difference.

Clean the gap between, scrub the hell out of it and all the drips in the world will be pure water.

Even with the openers tightly shut there is often a slight gap behind the opener frame, between the opener and the window frame.  Any water above can seep into this gap, run down behind it and then emerge onto the frame of the main window below.  As it  runs down behind it can collect dirt from where the brush can't reach and carry it down on to the lower pane.

The only guaranteed way to avoid this would be to clean the 'hidden' parts of framework by hand with the opener open.

Even that won't last for ever as more dirt will accumulate and cause the problem to recur.

Some windows will be more problematical than others, as always.  Brushing the opener frames with the water off will give a reasonable result on the strip between the openers, the rest of the window can then be done as normal, taking care to avoid the centre strip.

Clean until spotless. Only have first cleans that's a problem. If the water sat on top is clean, it can only drip clean.
My brothers windy misses top frame out. They look bad
Arnt they vents not openers?

What I found is that it's not so much about the gap between the openers - it's more about that "v" shape in the gap.  Most UPVC windows have the "v" but a few don't.  You can even get a line on that bit after rain - whether WFP is used or not.  If you have any windows like this without that "v", you should find that they are no problem.

ok guys if the top 2 little openers are dirty i clean them thoroughly including frames(and gap) then go and clean a few more windows then come back and just clean the lower large pane but on regular cleans i avoid getting water in the gap and avoid cleaning the top frames on the little openers say for 6 months or so then repeat above.its quick and it prevents the dreaded run down the middle of the lower pane! ;)

this is on upper windows.on ground floor windows i usually wipe the top of the openers and the gap with a damp cloth if their dirty and wfp the rest of the window.

i would clean the top openers then clean the rest of the tops then go bk to the bottom window that had the run on turn water off swipe the drips off it so no more is running from the openers then scrub an rinse that pain blow u will then ave no runs some times i rap a microfiber round the brush an wipe the gap an between the openers making shore i dont tuch the glass this wrks for me any way :)

I think youll always get the odd complaint with wfp its just the nature of it. Ive had 3-4 complaints in the last 6 month and I dont slap dash. All I do now is scrub  frames rinse then next window same then go back top glass openeners next window top glass openers then back again lower panes. For bottoms scrub all frames and if can reach wipe them with cloth then do glass.

Only complaints ive had are first cleans though.  Maintenance are generally ok I think you have to weigh up the speed of wfp vs losing the odd customer
