2 conservatories.
« on: March 17, 2015, 08:13:23 pm »
Went to price a job today on a four bed detached that needs a first clean on windows and 2 cons 12x12 including roofs.
I gave a price and she wants it cheaper, just wondering what you would charge?  Thought I'd get an opinion before I tell you what I asked for (south east price)  :)

Hard to say without seeing it, but no less than £140.

well, that's exactly what I quoted, it is pretty minging, so if she wants to go lower, I may just leave it.

I'm in Newbury by the way. Personally I don't negotiate so if she wanted lower I would just walk away. If they were indeed minging I'd probably want a bit more than £140. If it was a one off I'd definitely want more.

If they dont accept your price its their problem not yours just walk away , Had a new custy the other week someone i new from years ago just moved in to current house .

Wanted con roof cleaning but did not want to pay as much as i have quoted as they intend on having it replaced and could i just give it a quick going over for £10  Noooooooooooooo  i dont do quick jobs as it would reflect badly on me leaving a job looking half done

what some customers fail to realise is how much hard work, time and effort goes into cleaning conny roofs.they are a pain.

how long do you think it will take you?an hour for the windows?(if their minging) and 90 mins each for the roofs?thats 4 hours of solid work.id charge £200.take it or leave it.its specialist cleaning IMO that takes you away from your regular maintenance window cleaning schedule.i want £50-£60 an hour on add on jobs and usually achieve it these days.

plus your not going to be doing many other jobs that day after cleaning these cos youll be tired.
price higher/work harder!

kempy ive got enough window cleaning work all year round to make a comfortable living just ploughing through it all every month.i earn £50-£60 an hour sometimes on easy regular window cleaning work(mainly commercial).£30-£40 an hour is average though.

why would i want to work harder on pain in the arse jobs for the same money which takes me away from my normal schedule?

been there.done that years ago.
price higher/work harder!

You should charge a bit more so you didn't have to mess about mixing chemicals to make a crust.  ;)
