Just an obsivation but still a bit quite on the number of jobs but getting a good amount of rep clients I like to call the big hitters that are spending £500 plus so very happy with that, also less enquiries but the ones I book are defo spending a lot more

I don't like the big hitter jobs unless the owners are out of the way or it's a commercial. I would rather do two £250.. domestics than one £500er, in a day, even if it meant taking longer and traveling a few miles in between. It was on the quiet side up to a couple of weeks ago but is picking up nicely now.

This week is a perfect start for me, every  morning is booked  each with around £300 of work, I could leave it at that and have a good week but more  than likely I will book jobs into the afternoons so I could (if I wanted to work a full day)  have some £500 days but  not single £500 jobs.

680 office chairs to do over 4 days this week at 5.00 per chair. upholstery clean and good polish up of legs and sides  :) :-\ plus a full carpet job at a retirement home just to add to normal weekly domestics. ramping up with coffee at the mo!

I don't get it Dave, why would you choose to pack up your gear and move to another job when someone wants a lot of cleaning done in one place?

I just get bored being in one place all day, but then my full days come in at around £250.., or put it this way, Ive had enough after a £250.. job these days. Not a mere boy like you you know!  ;)

Have to laugh at this  really.  For everyone of you truthful lot at £500 per job there is a billion that would do it for a tenner and a warm meal. Never in the history of all trades do you find as many cranks than in the carpet cleaning 'game'.  ::)roll

funny that, a billion that would do It for a tenner, didn't realize there were so many qualified carpet technicians in this country, and these billions, have they invested thousands in training, equipment, marketing over the years to get themselves with great clients that see as ONLY spending £500 plus to clean , protect and generally  take care of their furnishings, that they have hard worked for and spent thousands of pounds on, as a really cost effective, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm no I didn't think so,

I agree with Pete here, what percentage of carpet cleaners net a grand a week after everything.

Top 2% maximum I would guess, that's not once, that's 52k a year net taxable profit.?

net taxable?
many here I would say, after around 5years in business, many also doing not only carpets
but one thing is net declared to the tax men and another is net in the pocket :)

if i can have many weeks in a year after 2 years in business with over 1k and more net then 50k must be a normal unusual thing.

in the only december you can make easy 2k a week.

had a neighbour, self employed irish man, who only build a plaster walls, old crapy van, and a big detached house, full of money. years of great work done, no advertising at all, just recomendations.

do not rate everyone on the same level with yourself as every one is different, different skills on runing the same business, diffetent ideas.

his 120 is over 200 a day, thats over 1000 a week, and thats 50k a year
what is his investition his expenses? does he get leasing for his 1k worth of equipment, does he drive a preaty new van?
