I did think about that but as they say it's the thought that counts!

I've come to a point where I'm wanting things to make my life easier may be even better I don't want to make do or have hassles so I thought why not ...it's only money!

Hi Richard,
Most I`ve run is 250 ft I think. Works fine at that distance.

Shaun

I bet Chris had a headache haggling with you  ;D nice set up

Mike

I don't think anyone was trying to compare a portable to a 25hp or above T/M but there are a lot of guys me included that are weighing up the difference between 4k for a top portable and 12k for a small T/M

Mines in a Movano mwb high roof, think there's about 600mm width left between tank and box for reel so should be able to fit a porty in there.(if i had one).

Could the guys with truckmounts let me know  who they use for insurance and what sort of costs are involved how does it play out with the normal van insurance.

A lot of TM users use NFU, as it is plant and this is what they specialise in.
Most companies wont insure you f you have a water tank fixed inside

Is it a separate insurance or does it cover the tm and van in one

Got it through Gleaming insurance.

Hi Andrew  how much does your machinery cover cost , also how does having a truckmout effect your normal van insurance are they ok with having a truckmount in the van?

I pay about £900 a year for public and employers liability with 10M cover for public
this covers the 20k for plant and machinary, I have 15 staff, so find it reasonable to what I was paying.

NFU fine with having the tm in the back, its about £480 a year
