Bending PVC/ Conduit DIY Gooseneck
« on: March 06, 2015, 09:41:18 pm »
Here you have a way of bending PVC / Conduit quick and simply.
All you have to have is a heat gun and a spring.
This is all done in real time!!

All very good but that is thicker than the gooseneck.

It depends how you want to connect to your pole.
If you have a QL on tip of pole.
Then you use QL female connection.
And if you have it so slides into the end of the pole.
Put a 8 inch smaller conduit into the gooseneck so to be able to insert into pole.

Because ready made goosenecks are already out there ???

Why not invent something new?

Yes know there out there  Dave.
The 10 inch Gardiner in the picture works well.
However this was not about inventing a different gooseneck.
It was to make something that works just a well.
But at a fraction of the cost.  ;)
If you are not into DIY things then it is better to then buy one. :)
But suppose each to his/her own. :)

What's wrong with that?  Some folk enjoy doing it too.  I know I felt like I got one up on the Universe when I learnt how easy it is to DIY a flow controller that is more reliable than the previous off-the-shelf ones I purchased.

Right on Tosh!!
You have worked out a way of DIY controller that works for you and because of that you have a reliable controller.
Although when it comes to what you done know squat about those type of things.
However you learnt how it was done.
Same here what we make out of PVC conduit had to learn how to do it as well.
In relation to the gooseneck material wise it only cost less then a dollar or you could use a scrap piece .
And 15 minutes to make.
Same goes for the Quick- lock Extender that is on another thread.
However there are the people that like doing these type of things.
And the ones just as so buy them.
