« on: March 05, 2015, 06:03:17 pm »
any of you guys discovered through working on this type of work ,     found out what is the best brush to cover this work.

im using a DMT brush atm,  the one you get with your clx poles as standard    but was wondering if a bigger Sill brush would cover more area   when brushing.

I've been using the Gardiner sill brush with the red fan jets. Works really well, gets under the gutters to the fascia boards easily enough and when using Virosol or another cleaning agent, the jets don't wash it away to quickly when first applied, but after a scrub down, the fans work quite well in rinsing off.

I prefer the blue & white Xtreme once no good for cleaning windows as in lost a few bristles from the ends i find them ideal .

The lighter the brush the better,  less fatigue makes the job easier

is there much difference in the fan jets    compared to the standard pencil jets.  im used to paying £20+ for dual trim brush,

sill brush ends up just under £50.  after vat + delivery

I use the Super Lite Radius Sill Brush Dual Trim Stiff Bristles with the wide fan jets on G/F/S, after spraying
a mix of water & virosol  with a Gardiners backpack, works a dream, a couple of years ago when I was inexperienced
with G/F/S cleaning and used a softer bristled brush and no pretreatment with virosol, it was bloody hard work
especialy with G/F/S's that were black from years of not been cleaned.

 Best regards

Is it not possible to just use the brush you would use to clean windows?

Do people change their brush from a window brush to s gutter/plastics brush?

Yes you can do that, no problem. I used to just use my superlite.
But, imo, the sill brush (which I bought for window cleaning but didn't like at all) does an extremely good job with f/s/g cleaning. Even better with the fan jets.
But every one is different, something that I gel with may not be what suits you and your methods /style of work. Sometimes I try things others have suggested and it improves things I do, other times it makes no difference or it just doesn't suit my way of working.

Any one of your old brushes will do the job.
