Brickwork
« on: March 04, 2015, 08:02:26 pm »
Been asked to quote a clean of a brick building, and was wondering if there was any recommended methods.

We've cleaned plenty of walls, cladding, fascias etc over the years, however, a full building worries me a little.

Have used pressure washers with no chemicals or heat previously and walls have come up fine, just worried about the pointing, and quality of finish. as its a fairly high profile building, and we get a lot of work from these clients.

I would look at a low level section and if the mortar is sound then take a general thinking that the rest of it is in a similar state.

I've got a brick clean amongst other cleaning, starting on Monday and I have no concerns about blowing the mortar out.

I will be using turbo nozzles.

Unless the brick faces are blown and the mortar is loose , my experience is that it wont damage, just don't spend too long on one particular section.

Good luck
