Oh my dear god! Turned on my laptop this morning and tried loaded the software. Had some sort of error message come up. Not thinking I clicked 'exit application' or something along them lines and now I have lost half my work, debts, accounts the lot.  Don't know what the hell to do??? Or how I can recover from from this blow. 

I have a backup from the 26th if I can load that then maybe I could by memory sort this out. Tried loading it and the same bloody part data comes up. I'd say I've lost half my round. Please,  if anyone can shed some light and help me I will be forever in your debt

you should be able to load a back up, everytime you close the software it saves a copy just load the last back up you have

Let this be a lesson learned. Always, always backup everyday or at the very least once a week. So releaved its utrue. Was almost in tears ten mins ago. Felt like my whole world was going to fold in. Off to work now will just have to fill in the gaps from the 26th later. That includes going through all my bin bags for envelopes (with old  beans stuck to them!)   will gladly do that than write off all my debtors

glad you found it, this was one of the key reasons we moved from WCP to Cleaner Planner - as WCP is not being updated any more, and you have to remember to back up, CP is auto backed up on the cloud and you can back up independantly too, also if you like WCP you would like CP as it works similarily with lots and lots of more updated features, just in case you were thinking of a change - rob can import all your data too.

I will  check out Cp tonight i think.  Im so behind with the times now its untrue. Not been active here for a long time. On this profile and another.  I'll be sure to check in and network more again with you fine and helpful folks.

The previous backup I had was from the 2nd of Feb I honestly don't know what I would of done. So lucky

As Smudger points out you're well covered with CP from crashes etc. If one PC crashes your data is safe - just login to CP from another PC or an iPad!

I backup your database hourly but for extra peace of mind you can take your own backups as well, either to Dropbox or a USB stick.

Try formatting the wrong hard drive and losing ALL your accounts. Had to redo them. Luckily kept paper work.

In this day and age there should be no excuse for data loss. Unless you are an idiot like me.

I also formatted the wrong drive once, thought i lost everything, i also thought my world had ended. Fortunately i backed up to dropbox, but as dropbox is a live folder id wiped that to!! NOOOO, thankfully dropbox has a "recycle bin"

I quickly pulled it out of bin and restored it! Really is worth moving over to Cleaner Planner now, im a massive fan of WCP, its been great for me, but it can be a little unstable and sadly support seems to have fallen away.

Cleaner Planner is great. Very happy with it.
