On the 4040 does the waste come out the middle of the chrome 4040 or the port at the side as were having a nightmare.

Open your flush valve and start up.  Waste will come rushing out of the waste port - not difficult to identify it then

From memory it's waste in the middle and pure at the side, but I haven't got my 4040 here so I can't nip out and look.

On mine the side port is water in the central one is water out and should have a gate valve, open it to flush close to make pure ( check if you have a small hole drilled in the vale gate, if not close valve then open 1/4 to 1/2 turn

Cheers Ian it's a friends system. I don't understand 4040 but we got water coming out at 26 and was going up. But checked water coming out of membrane and it was 259 which seems like waste. I checked the middle port which hardly any water came out and was 003 but the waste was gushing out don't understand m8

He got the chrome 4040 from cleaning warehouse no instructions.
It's got one hole at one end and two holes at the other

He's got pipe fromains that goes into sediment filter then carbon filter into the single port then out the port next to the port from middle which we think the middle is waste. It then goes into Di and out pure. We ran water for 45 mins got down to 26 then started going up. I checked water coming out of port not the middle waste and it was comming out at 259 which is wrong ?

Chome housing you mean?

Have you got a valve/waste gate at one end - usually a brass fitting with red painted "wheel" you turn it like a tap, all the way out is open, and flushing the system in is closed most water will divert out of the side hole - this is waste a trickle will come out the centre this is pure

The othe end should have just the side port for water in.

I'm positive that's it, I'm due to pop down the unit in an hour if not sorted I'll take a piccy or 2 hopefully that might be clearer than trying to type the answer

danny if your still stuck, im not that far from you. you could come and see my setup. i was the same at the start but now i know the 4040 inside out.
