200 GPD RO system

Just bought 200 gpd Ro system, been running it for over an hour and still haven't filled up a 25 litre container am I doing something wrong or is this the norm? Please help ???

If i'm going to be blunt (sorry) a 200gpd is about as useful as a kick in the crotch...


But if i'm being helpful, you could probably do with a booster pump (http://www.purefreedom.co.uk/24v-aquatec-reverse-osmosis-booster-pump-power-supply-p-274.html?page=2) as membranes need high water pressure to run efficiently (mains is usually not good enough)
You could also add a membrane to increase productivity...


Firstly, i'd get a pressure gauge and see what the pressure is going into your r.o.
Any less than 50psi...you need a booster pump mate

It sounds about right, although a higher water pressure will help it probably won't make that much difference.

I'm afraid that a small r/o isn't much good for window cleaning -alright for fish keeping, but that's about all. I agree with Don on this one.

We started with 3 x 75 GPD membranes in our r/o. I upgraded to 3 x 150GPD membranes and that was a noticeable increase in water production. However you really need to be processing water into a 1000 liter IBC tank and pumping out the water as you need it.

We found that the 450 GPD upgrade kept 2 of us working with a little planning. But it was only possible with a solenoid valve and float switch to ensure that if the IBC wasn't full, the r/o was working to fill it up.

ive a 300 ro,  took me between 8-9 hours for 210 litres,    got booster pump,    now took me 3/12  hours today.
still dont like leaving it alone incase of pressure blow then flooding.     better when i get it outside in out house

i remember when first starting to get set-up in wfp,    i have ro in house set-up, kitchen,      set it up, filling 25 litre drums up, used to time them,    go in kitchen to change drum over,    sometimes id watch tv and forget,   water all over kitchen,    nightmare.
happy days.
got it all ok now,    but now added booster pump,  added pressure going into ro ,   always too cautious.
have visions of ro tubing coming out og ro and flooding.
still happy now with 220 litres in 3 hours 20 minutes though.
pump gets warm.
im going to get a plumber round to see if they can get a tap to go out the rear garden.
or into front shed,   dont want any hose s along walls,
