It seems to imply that you are commercial only?

When I hover over "window cleaning" a box appears saying "commercial window cleaning".

Yes point taking on that .... If you click on window cleaning on the nav bar ...that takes you to the what will be residential page ....is that misleading you think ?

Yes it is, as a residential I wouldnt look any further.

Great brand awareness throughout, nice pics, esp the cheeky chappie squeegee shot,

Overall it's going in the right direction, not studied the actual text too hard, but a great feel, 2 small points for me, I'd drop the c&g clearchoice and academy logos they mean nothing to the public, and given too much space, I'd mention these things more in a blog, I found the little video of why choose us slightly too negative, I know what your getting at, but promote your positives rather than others negatives

Darran great honest feedback mate .. Regading your point on the logos etc.. Mean nothing to the public ( do you think it's more of a draw to commercial clients in that case ) .. We see lots of other logos like ( reach & wash , fwc , Mgwc, safe contactor etc...on sites .) .. Like you say not sure if they work or not ... I was working on if I have a little something that sets me apart from others then I guess I'm trying to highlight it and maximise it through a logo on the site - I did read an article the other week in which some marketing / website guru was actually promoting the use of logos , icons etc. on websites ...  That's said you think they're roo big and imposing inprsent format ?

Cheers Paul

Ref video - it was always presented to me to push your positives as negatives form an overall negative feel to your buisness - that's just from a seminar I attended years ago, so may not be relevant anymore.

Personally, I think most of these logos, groups, organisations are irrelevant to buisness, on the whole it's some office bod dreaming up a way to make money with pseudo labels and qualifications we have no logos like FWC or checka trade etc..
No one has ever asked why I haven't and I still tender for large commercial works.

Having said that, should a contract require safe contractor then I may bite the bullet and pay the rip off price to gain that work, but would I put it over the website and vans unlikely

Fair and valid reasons mate cheers I'll certainly bare your points in mind as we move forward to finalising the site - re the vid I was trying to get across our positives v others negatives ...so turning the viewers negative of whatever window cleaning service they've had previously by highlighting the usual key problems - and then going onto to say we aren't like them and this is why ...I know it's worked for some larger business in cleaning sector as the company that done the vid have done some for such companies based on that theme - nothing ventured nothing gained can only suck it and see ...if it doesn't work it's easily changed / updated

I am little confused as you seem to want selective feedback when it has to be reviewed as one. In my opinion the look and layout is made up from the content (apart the the postion of the tabs) most sites are at the top so not a lot to comment on.

You ask for honest feedback but want it to be nice because the designer gets on here. Do you want honesty or niceness?

As for a feedback, untill you get a final draft done It is pointless trying to review a website where much of the content is going to change.

Smudger has made some very valid points and I would follow his advice. How close is it to being ready? When you have a final draft ready bump this thread and I am sure you will get more feedback.

No probs Paul - marketing is one of those black arts, that you constantly need to tweak, change and then go back to your original idea  ;D

Look forward to seeing it all finished

The " and be nice " quote was tongue in cheek ! Lol

I take feedback well tbh... If I didnt I wouldn't come on here ...as I know the amount of vultures that circle ready to pounce and critique ... Feedback on the forum is just a small part of gaining opinions on the site in its building stages and a like people's craic on here - the first being look and layout like I said ... SO ..if you have any feedback on that fire away ... Then I'll put it up after the next phase and get some more feedback ...

I`ll do one page at a time, The home page has way too much going on it is just to long, on my lap top only about 20% o the home page is visable at any one time, way to much scrolling down to see content that is unnecessary.

The top banner is good, ie... K2 for a peak shine and the tabs   But below that you have another banner with moutains and k2 (in a diffrent font)  and another slogan. So I would lose that,

Then you have 2 window cleaning links in the middle fo the page, you have lthe links at the top no need for them..So I would lose that

Then you have the text... Professional Safe and Reliable blah blah blah, thats good, So if you lose the stuff above that  the crusty will  see some relevent content when they land on your page.

Then you have (after much scrolling) you have a contact box, but you have a contact us tab at the top so its not needed

Then the vid ( back to that in a mo)

Then (after even more scrolling) the abouts us 100 %blah blah it relays the same message as the text at the top, you dont need it get rid

So far after all scrolling I am still only hal way down the page and getting RSI

Next up you have the reviews, The wording used on most of them is so blatantly for SEO...I would move them to the blog page not needed on your home page.

Next up, GO CARDLESS PAY YOUR BILL, WFT who came up with the idea of putting pay me my money out of site near the bottom of a very long page. pay me money needs it own tab at the top page
Next your badges, you have all ready said in wrting you are C&G ...in the bin

Then you have CLEAR CHOICE,  another slogan? so 3 diffrent slogans on one page.....thats in the bin with the second one

Next up your phone number AT THE BOTTOM OUT OF SITE It needs to be on display nice and bold at the very top

Next you have all your tabs and blog again they are at the top (a bloody long way up) in the bin they go

:'( :'( :'( The vey last thing on the page is another pay your bill  :'( :'( :'(

It does not look Iike  his work but I presume its avons, if not  I apologise To Him, but I saw a new site of his a few weeks back, At the time I thought that it was not up to his high standed but yours is  bad really bad. Sorry but I have to say the whole site is all over the place

I think poleking and smudgers have good sites that i think were done by avon, look at theirs then look at yours

apart from what I have pointed out It is spot on  ;D

I will have a look at the other pages later

The biggest problem is your top menu. It isn't right. Under window cleaning you have "commercial". It should be window cleaning, then underneath commercial/domestic. Similarly you have fascia cleaning under conservatory cleaning. It's an easy fix.

I have just watched the video & agree with Smudger. It's too negative.

Get your point totally with the Nav bar

Still have more fans of the vid than not - guess its not somes cup of tea , but may consider not having it on the home page
