I caught a windy poaching on my patch the other day.

Well, I say he was poaching, I'm assuming he was 'cos there were two pheasants in the bucket that was swinging from the pointer on the roof of the Focus and a feckin' brace of rabbits on the back seat.

just like to say i am in for 40s now think window cleaning has changed a lot in the past 20 odd years ,like to say some comments are just a p take which does not bother me in the slightest,to me someone trying to pinch my customers who i have had for past 16years ,then someone just thinking they can knock on my doors trying there luck is not on/until it happens to yourself then yous might look at it a bit different ,thanks for a few who have not slated me,just to let you know i have well over 500 customers ,its not that i am frightened to loose work its point of someone knocking on houses known they have a windowcleaner

There's not a single shiner that hasn't had their work knocked.

Get a grip. Why take it so serious. Who cares who canvasses or leaflets.. What gives you the right to call that person and have a go at them. I bet a lot of your work had a window cleaner before you.
If this thread isnt a windup then you have some issues going on up there.

went on my round today one of my cussttys come out to say someone had put i card threw his door asking if they wanted there windows done, cut the story short this has happened to me twice same guy his first year in window cleaning,i have phoned him up calling him all the swear words under the sun, claims he can just do what he wants,i have had my patch for 16 year now for him to do this it is classed as poaching ,i have told him he has got to buy in to a window cleaning business its the way it works,he disagrees now things are going to nasty by this i mean fists are going to be flung about, why wont to listen to how window cleaning works ,other windy mates have come to agreement, someone cancels with me and approaches them fare does (vicea versa)

Put a poster on all 500 of your customers houses saying:

'window cleaner owns this house and has cleaned for over 16years'

That way, if another window cleaner is around the area they know not to knock as big bad daryn cleans them...

i've never knowingly lost anything to a cavasser and if i have then fair enough.
Either i wasn't doing something right or they weren't the type of customer i want

I'd recommened getting a grip of your testicles and get on with it.
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

I don't think it's a wind up, there's plenty of window cleaners out there that think they own patches, I've met a few myself. Obviously the majority on here don't agree, myself included, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
