Gritters smashed into my van in the early hours of saturday morning

Still trying to get a courtesy vehicle sorted through the insurance as i need a roof rack and a swb van

What a nightmare , even when the accident isnt your fault you end up getting screwed, already lost a day looks like two by the time i get second van up and running

Anyone ever successfully claim for loss of earnings to third party insurers?
I'll try get pictures up but dont know how, they made a right mess of my van

Had a claim a few years ago.

I had to claim as had three months off work.

Got LOE/personal injury compensation AND potential clients lost claim

If I could prove that any job that come in and i couldn't clean it. They agreed to a part payment.

Was just after Xmas so got lots of quotes through for jan cleans so I was laughing.

Painless produce and got all my Physio sessions paid for as well.

LOE is basically proof round sheets/bank statements for other months etc etc.

Yeah I gathered you wasn't in the van.

Yes I got loss of earnings back but I had to give them a copy of my tax return, they then divided my earnings by 52 to get my average weekly income which was rather underhand I thought.

By 52 seems wrong. Surely it should be 47 maximum!

They should pay for you a hire van instantly. 100% not your fault. You can claim everything back

They wouldn't put a roof rack on the courtesy van I had.

Northgate Vehicle Hire will customise any van if needed, and turn it around within a day or two, obviously for a price!

The van is repairable i think , its a 63 plate vw so shouldnt be written off?
The courtesy van is coming tomorrow am so should be at work before dinner, the hold up has been getting a van with a roof rack  , theyve sourced one in midlands now, its ridiculous when i think of how cheap and easy it is to put two roof bars on and they try find one already done
If id of known id of took a small van at weekend and done it myself , oh well

Someone is hopefully coming for my van today so i am going to clear van out in a minute , wfp stuff all over my front room , the wife will be soo happy lol

I had a fella smash into me Sept last yer and still no payment yet 5 months , insurance is a joke. Its a tax to make the rich richer. They claim they are been ripped off,by cons  artists claiming for neck whip lash etc. Its the Insurance companies doing all the conning.

Is your van going to be registered as damage repaired because if it was i wouldn't be happy with that? Maybe classed as a cat D in which case it will be worth a good bit less than the same van without previous damage.

Change insurance company when my van was written off on a Monday dinner time had a courtesy van within 5 hours admit didn't need roof bars and money for van in bank on Friday .Didn't get screwed on premiums next ( hit and run ) so going to stick with Avviva

Ive got a van now, swb med roof tranny dropped off at 6.30am this morning , just finishing my brew and then im going to strap my tank and gear in (got bulkhead too thankfully) and earn some wonga for first time since friday am .


I never thought about the cat D thing !! not much i can do about it though is there??
I thought cat d was only when they should have written it off and you get it fixed??
My van has some pretty bad body work damage but it should come back fine its only a yr old and its only panel damage nothing to the mechanics of the driving .. Its basically a new wheel arch some bumps and scrapes to bumper and bonnet and passenger door and a new front light and wing mirror

It just looks horrendous because you can see the wheel arch bent back 180  degrees onto side door , it's going to take some work though as all the fixings for said panels out,i reckon i will be in the hire van for 10 days minimum.
Still, at least i'm out earning now  !!

It was our wedding anniversary at weekend and with this happening i didnt want to spend any money haha but i dont think i would of got away with that one , these things never happen when its convenient eh!
