Because it's an add I  does that mean amateur equipment is acceptable?  If your gonna do something then do it properly,otherwise dont bother.

That's the first a window cleaner offering advise to people who do pressure washing. You all come on here tring to get every piece of information about how you can all add this to your services but as soon as somebody who does pressure washing who wants to start window cleaning you go all territorial ! See it all the time. I suggest you get your head out of your ass and stay inside your own box

 So you're right i'm on my way to making my millions with my cheap chinese washer. Its four years old, i've cleaned conservatorys with it and allsorts.

Ah right.ok. I have used a power washer on a conny roof, something i would do again if needed. Of course i wouldn't recommend that as a way of cleaning conny roofs. But there's a time and place for everything. They're fine for a small clean, whatever.

 Now i've had a problem....... Might make you laugh, but after four years of heavy use my little chinese jet washer has give up the ghost. It has an alloy pump head, with some brass screws in it. These are prone when overheating or freezing to crack the alloy, and thats whats happened to mine. Its £29 for a new pump head. I've shelved it, because i have gone onto other uses for my jet wash, i.e i got a newer bigger one for my truckwashing. And the old one is not interchangable. So here's what i'm, gonna do. I'm going to order a new pump head for £29 and i'm going to fit it. Then anyone who fancies it can buy the washer off me for £29. It will save me throwing it out. I'll demonstrate it and throw in a lance and nozzles, but they'll have to buy their own hose for it.
 So if you want a cheap little addon you can have my little chinese 2200PSI, 6/7 LPM jet washer for £29. First come first served, you'll have to collect from Liverpool. My contact is cleanandclearliverpool@gmail.com  but i dont want anyone to email me for it. Post here that you want it for £29 and i'll get it ready for you. First come first served. If you dont turn up i'll ask the next person who's asked for it. Then we can get some feedback on just how usefull a cheap chinese jet washer is , or otherwise, as an add on for your cleaning business.

There's a member on here who works very high end with Karcher pressure washers. Nothing wrong with them. I've got one for washing the cars at home.

I don't or rather I hope I am not a machine snob and I can see that every requirement is different.
What suits me is not right for someone else and the same in reverse.

You don't need a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

I've gone across a whole Sainsbury's storefront tonight, with chewing gum removal and also most of a neighboring Boots frontage and then cleaned some guttering.

I can do that because of the machine I have.

Another contractor said to me - 'you've knocked the work out tonight'

I said - It's down to the machine', which it is but I also know how to get the best from it.

My 1st machine was 6.5 hp and about 1 LPM. There's no need to spend a fortune to make your service excellent and I can see where the add on guys are coming from.

If I didn't have an add on of pressure washing, advertised on my old website I would not have what I have now and I never did a lot before we went commercial. In fact I did virtually none.

I tell you where I am at.

Let the guys ask the questions, if you are fed up with the same old questions just don't reply.

I've always liked good coffee and I have a coffee machine but I am looking for a new machine, something a bit special, where I can grind my own beans and that will be aesthetically pleasing to me. I'm on a coffee forum, picking up all the info I can. I'm finding it really quite interesting.

Not everyones cup of tea (see what I did there  ) but it floats my boat.

Spend less time on here and fill that time with something else. You will be surprised!

you are correct in what your saying it is "Horses for Courses".  I often usae an analagy that you want to drill 50 holes in brickwork / masonry then an 18v battery Makita will do it "EVENTUALLY".  Nowhere near as quick an efficiently as 36Volt Makita / Hilti or similar but they will both do it.  The difference is I will be at home drinking tea whilst the 18Volt Guy is still at it changing batteries every couple of holes.

My point is for occasional use then the cheap stuff is great "For a While" but there comes a point where it is not Ok and starts to cost you one way or another.  When I was tiling I used a Hilti Jack Hammer with a bolster fitted to remove tiles and it goes through them like butter it cost me in excess of £1500 at the time and is still going strong today.  However, at the time I knew another tiler who used some thing from B&Q that cost £49 and if it broke he took it back and changed it for a new one.  His point was he could buy 30 of those for what I paid.  My point was I needed something totally reliable with self sharpening bits and vibration damping control to protect my guys.  Who was right me or him?

I bought a cxouple of years ago a small Falch Electric PW to clean our machines when they come back in from grinding it cost about £500 but I could have bought the same power PW for £75 or less from Aldi!!!   Did I  make the right or wrong decision.  99/100 you get weaht you pay for and ultimately it is down to how much you are going to use it IMHO.

I agree with Kelvin. I could have bought an Italian / German hybrid Hoover from some geezer flogging them on ebay….instead I bought a Big brute to complement my big nozzle.
