Paying a canvasser - business expense?
« on: February 20, 2015, 10:24:31 am »
Does anyone know if you can put paying a canvasser down as a business expense for tax purposes?

Im not talking a few quid to a local kid, i mean paying a proper canvassing company

I would have thought it would be marketing expense same as  a website or paper advert etc?

Anyone done this?

Hi mate, i cant find one round here myself.

I used pdale back in Nov but hes yet to finish up as had quite a lot of cancellations. Nice guy though and priced well, certainly gets them in. I dont think he comes up here anymore though i think hes staying more local?

I have now booked whizz bizz in for August this year

Ive had a go myself here and there but im finding hardly anyone in during the day and its very demorolising, i hate it tbh.
Hoping once it gets lighter on a night i can do and hour and catch more people in.

where abouts are u based?

Dewsbury, but I do Horbury and Ossett. All I do is mass leaflet. Most houses have NO COLD CALL stickers in windows. Havnt tried it yet. I get a fair response from leaflets and word of mouth. It gets slowly bigger each month

I have 2 jobs in osset, 1 commecial job in dewsbury that was picked up when canvassing in wakefield, a fe w lupset side of horbury but mostly mine are a bit scattered, lofthouse, rothwell, sandal, walton as most picked up off of facebook.

I have tried leafletting for other businesses in the past to not much look, but ordering some new ones for windows soon and just keep plugging away, like i said i have used/will be using canvasser as well, its slow progress but just keep going i suppose.

Dewsbury, Rothwell, Wakefield. That is scattered about. Concentrate more in 1 area

Hi Adam why has Paul Dale not returned to replace the cancellations  Huh how many cancelled.

I am replacing his cancellations that were no fault of his own and already made plans to do so, they were given to me in the last month.
Where am I knocking today?

Please dont take what i said out of context

I had some cancellations and was merely stating a fact above. I shouldnt have mentioned it as Paul is in the process of sorting out my cancellations and has been very helpfull thus far.

Good to know i can put through my books for tax though, thanks.
