Annoying customers
« on: February 19, 2015, 03:07:13 pm »
I know that some of you think Facebook is a poor advertising platform, but we do get quite a bit of monthly work from it.
What I'm having a hissy about is, whether it's someone on Facebook, or on the phone, the dumbest question is "How much d you charge?"
No description of what needs doing, or where they are etc.

Is it just me that gets these people? (Hectoid, don't even go there  ::)roll ) Or is this a common thing with Brits?

considering your location, farcebook is an ideal way of drumming up business. It is not just you (God that pains me to say that  :'( :'( ) people in general think that you are a mind reader, and that you are just waiting for their call, and that you know where they live and what size rooms are etc.....
If you want the business, be polite and gently ask them what needs doing, where they are etc...

If you don't want the business.. tell em £399 per hour....

Don't get annoyed about it, see it as just a begining of a conversation.  Most customers don't know what questions to ask so just ask how

much ? but at the end of the day its an enquiry and with a bit of skill they will become a customer.

Some may have had the cleaners that charge per room so assume everyone charges that way, its just about educating them.

Not everyone who asks how much is just concerend about the price, it's more often than not an easy starting place.

Haven't got a mortgage anymore. I'm not moaning about all my customers, just those that ask how much do you charge. I suppose I've never had a problem getting my point across when I'm asking how much something costs, so I'm surprised when people appear to be thick.
Having read Steve Chapman's and Hectoid's answers, I may see things differently from now on.
Hope that explains my point better.
