I know there's a lot of posts about the best brushes and there's a lot of new ones coming out at the moment.
I'm really looking for a decent all round brush (I do windows, plastic and frames generally) that's going to last a while. My last Gardiner brush only lasted me 6 months if that, so not sure if I got one that really suited me.
What's your fav brush?

I like Gardiner's flocked sill brush. I find flocked scrubs better but you do have to rinse with  brush off glass. It seems marginally heavier than other Gardiner brushes when wet as I guess it holds onto more water.

Advantage of being a sill brush, I find I do not have to adjust the brush angle.

Disadvantage, if you use it to clean sills it will hold onto more dirt.

Thanks, that's the one I've been looking at, seems like it ticks the boxes. I rinse with the brush off the glass anyway. And they're only just down the road so gives me an excuse to go and perve at all their stock!

SL duel trim is best all rounder, six months is about right, 3 months work, spin 180 3 months then replace.

Haven't used the latest from water genie or wcw but even if the bristles haven't curled up all fallen out after a few months any bristle has lost a lot of scrubbing power as the ends have been dulled.

Tecbuk - unless you have a death light touch only last 2 to 3 months
Pro brush - again too heavy
Ionics - pricey, didn't find it any better than gardiners
Unger - well er... Very poor

Not thought about flipping the brush 180, cheers. The current brush is starting to look like a bald hedgehog!

If you're killing brushes a sill brush won't do you any favours.
For longevity, the ionic black domestic brushes last ages and are very good.
For quality I like the Gardiners DT Super-light. But they do wear pretty quickly. Especially if you rub them up the brickwork reveal.

I use the Gardiners. Get about 6 months from a brush.

dt flocked 0 degree is the best all round brush for me , I have used quite a few others but

always go back to this one, sorry meant to say gardiners one

Yup it would i only use Xtreme brushes and i am heavy handed had a brush bumper on for about 8 weeks now and brush is still in good order and no lost bristles .

Everyone has there own opinion of brushes, all you can really do is buy and try.
Personally I absolutely love the tecbuk maintenance brush, been using it since December and would say it's easily the best brush iv ever used.
Though I think gardiners new range is sounding very good.
I'm putting off any new brush purchases until iv seen what Alex has to offer.

I've tried loads of brushes and the best all rounder IMO is definitely the flocked sill from Gardiners. Will definitely buy it again but want to try the new sill brushes when they come out.

I'm no expert on brushes but I'm down to two brushes both SL medium mix. I find they are very good all round with care to be taken on lead. A flocked wouldn't suit me anymore due to rinsing. Next two on my radar is 0 splay medium mix and a stiff sill for fascia's although the flocked sill would be better.

I use dual trim extreme brush with hot water does the job is light enough cleans well enough for me

Lasts about anywhere from 3-5 months

I'm happy with that

My friend uses the inonic commercial head and retro fits to carbon goose neck, I did some modifications on it to lighten it for him took about 30% weight of it
his last about 5 years modified about 3 possibly

It's too heavy to me, but cleans really well, given there life span cost is not bad

Superlite flocked with hot water is my brush of choice. I do use the brush bumpers, definately worth it.

My favorite at the moment is the Extreme mono stiff brush - very similar to the superlight dual trim mono, only lighter.

As you saw i use sill brushes. Although not perfect, i rarely look at a poled window and think that looks **** !

All my windows look perfect!........................... Just as long as I don't do the insides and have a really good look at them  


I only use sill brushes on first cleans and gutters - I don't particularly like them.
