Dave, really appreciate your efforts with the gg4, it's not that I'm tight, or wouldn't use vision again but Titan labs have a very good reputation - I'm surprised they themselves haven't promoted this

I found something that clouds the water on mixing then clears too. Very familiar substance  ;D

I don't have any conclusive proof it's any better than pure water alone, it just seems better to me, doesn't spot and haven't yet found any negatives at all. Seems to thin the water down and break the surface tension.Certainly leaves the glass with a shine.

ps. I'm not competing against Vision at all - there's nothing in it for me. Just had some GG4 already and thought I'd experiment a bit.

I chose GG4 because it was designed for cleaning windows and the manufacturers were contactable by email - they say it can be used for wfp. They also claim it has an ingredient that eliminates calcium spotting
If it all went tits up I could discuss it with them and find out why, or simply stop using it and keep it for trad.

I played around with rinse aid last night. The theory would be perfect for our needs - breaks surface tension, encourages sheeting, makes water dry faster. All good stuff. It doesn't however have any cleaning power at all and doesn't apppear to break down grease and doesn't mix that well with water - sort of hangs about in a cloud.
Now, rinse aid mixed with Ecover could be on the cards. If I could be bothered.  ;D

aaaaahhhh good old ecover ;D,it kinda works but has a total tds of over 8000ppm neat is full of products to keep the ph in a safe range and to perserve its shelf life,jim thompson found this over four years ago but was dropped from use shortly afterwards as results are hit n miss,some still swear by it though

I'm more than happy with just "pure"- works for me!! ;)

One thing that has been established though via these "vision" threads is the staggering amount of people who seemingly suffer from spotting issues on a regular basis! I would advise more focus on technique &/or more suitable tools to begin with!

It does! But it's fun experimenting a bit too as long as it's cheap.  ;D
At the end of the day if you hit the road without your preferred additive - it won't make much difference I'm sure.
