Gardiners all season hose has been shocking this weather - I can't even coil it up on my eighteen foot pole. If anyone has found something that works and doesn't pull out of the push fit valves let me know. Hacked off with it.

I have the orange stuff in my 47' and the yellow stuff in my 22' (everyday pole)
I really like the yellow. Though you can't kink it very well. Thats the only downside...

This winter ive beeen using soft silicone tubing 4/6mm in green from my local koi centre its 35 quid for 100m roll but its worth it, I must say its the nutz , so far only winter testing not sure on its summer use yet, but looking good better than the black 4/6mm version I used beffore, it dont stiffen up like other stuff so much more manageable,  its been matched too 6mm microbore hose reel with 1.5mm jets for interest.

I've just bought 30 metres of it and put it in 18 ft & 25 ft poles and it's good - so far.

Hmmm, I've got some on a 30' pole and it's been ok for a few months (but splits inside the bend at the pole base) the new stuff on a brand new pole has been dreadful.

Colder weather will always make hose slightly stiffer than in warmer weather.

We recommend fitting stem to barb adapters on our yellow PVC hose if using with push-fit valves - http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/pump-hose/john-guest-fittings/metric-fittings/john-guest-8mm-stem-to-6mm-barb.html this would prevent the hose popping out when being pulled hard.

If it is all the same brand of hose (All-Season) then there should be no difference as our pole hose has not changed in 14 months.

Pole hose, once a month cut 1/4 inch of the length at the brush joint, this move's the week spot at the pole base up out of the way and it will not continue to split. Once an hour, unclip pole hose from reel hose and pull straight a couple of times, this removes any tension and ensures the hose is easily manageable when coiling in or whatever.

Do this simple quick routine with any hose at all and you will never have any trouble with it. If you do have trouble, seek a plumber immediately as you may have a pigeon stuck in the pipe somewhere.

Put it in really hot water to soften up. Then make it taught and tie it up straight for a while. The coilling stops.

Alex, have you ever considered:

a winter hose - lovely and soft, winds easily, in summer goes too soft to use
a summer hose - tough, doesn't compress when trodden on on a summer's day, wears well, horrible in winter

You'd sell (possibly) twice as much and we'd all be happy to spend it.

That'd be at least 4 hoses though Vin.
Summer Hot water
Summer Cold water
Winter Hot water
Winter Cold water

Dazmond, I thought you loved Aquadapter hose? Don't say you've changed your mind on that too?

Gardiners did make a supple bright yellow hose once, can't remember what the downside was but I think it would burst with hot water. I have loads of hose in my garage but can't remember why it was chucked there. Idid use some streamline braded stuff once but got fed up with using a barbed connector at every push fit on every pole (three for every pole minimum).
Worst hose I ever tried was Aquadapter red and the orange - just wouldn't lay flat and couldn't be coiled.

I use Gardiners all season pole hose and we have had LESS problems with it than the previous incarnation.
My wife's hose used to be in a terrible tangle but hardly any problems now.
Do you just take it out of the package and start using it?
If so try this!
Fill a bucket or one of those home storage boxes with hot -- not boiling - water and sit the hose submerged in it for a few minutes.
Uncoil it and stretch it out along the garden or drive with a brick to weigh down each end.
The hose contracts and stretches as it cools.
This takes out all the coiling and kinks.
Store it in as long a length as possible not coiled up. I run it along the length of the garage on the rafters.
No problems with coiling up.
Simples!

Pole 1 with all season pole hose = Awesome to use, had since launch

Pole 2 with all season pole hose = Awesome to use, had since launch

Pole 3 with all season pole hose = Replaced it twice within 3 months. Terrible to use. (purchased within last 6 months i would say)

So in a round about way you are saying it's no good anymore.
