local window cleaner falls
« on: February 11, 2015, 07:03:59 pm »
Not to sure on the details but from what I  have heard and local isle of Wight news a window cleaner fell from height off his ladders today. He is in a bad way and air lifted to the mainland hospital.
Just hope he pulls through !

he was quite comfortable cleaning this way,    probably because he has never fallen before.

this is why i will never go back to ladder work,    unless 100%  safe.

probably now a round going for sale on the isle of wight

all the local windies will be visiting him and leaving him there cards.

ALL IN ALL WE ALL WISH HIM A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

this is what i try to explain to my customers who moan about having no ladders.

You do know that 29,000 children under the age of five (21 kids a minute) die every day?  So a window cleaner falls from his ladders and I'm expected to feel sad about that?  I bet none of you lot will lose any sleep over it unless he was related or a mate.

I don't go for all this public grief either; seems pointless to me.

And my comment was more directed at Jakey, the guy - with a young family - who reckons he's fast on ladders.  Well a bad fall is going to slow you down a bit.

Maybe instead of jumping all over me for insensitive comments, maybe you'd be of better use encouraging the ladder only boys to add another tool to their kit?

I must admit I had the same reaction when I read Tosh's post and was initially going to complain. But after the rubbish that was spewed on here page after page the other day he has a point.

Tosh - I don't have any children.

Tosh - ladders are used all the time, mishaps do occur, I feell off myself a few years ago, thank God I was absolutely fine, somehow landed on my feet and hands with no injury what so ever, From upstairs window.

However I have not given up ladder work, instead, I am careful how I set them up. You can still be quick and safe at the same time.

Remember I use wfp as well, and do not take risks. If the ladder is appropriate, IMO it can be faster than using the pole on certain houses. The key word here is certain. Not all.

Trad is safe if you are sensible about placing the ladder.

So stop going on at me about it, or using insensitive comments like the above to moan at how I work.

Your a moderator, he's a fellow window cleaner, he may well read your comment and how do you think he will feel?

I'm all for banter, but not on issues like this. Plus you are supposed to be a moderator, it's surley best you don't keep nit picking at people? There's enough donuts on here as it is. Let alone when the moderator starts being one !

It's not meant to be funny and I doubt Tosh meant it to be funny either. Depends how you interpret it.
I don't know the guy but it's an accident that could have been avoided.

More shocking to me is the runaway lorry in Bath (quite close to me) that killed an innocent young girl and four adults the other day.

Tosh there's no other post about Jake up to your post so how is it meant to be taken and you think your a moderator!

What has Tosh being a moderator got to do with it?
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

I am a bit surprised at you Tosh, a man of your integrity.

My first reaction was to say...there will be a round going...then I thought NO. Not a good time to be sarcastic.
There is more people on here who are inconsiderate and slag people off all the time, yet as soon as Tosh says something wrong, you are on his back.

+1 He may be a slanty cross dressing Geordie with the IQ of a walnut, but he's a windie first, who happens to mod a forum. You lot need to see the dross everyone posts in the chat section!! He's pretty "run of the mill" in there.  ::)roll

If you think his comments were a bit harsh, come and have a look at the loony bin. ::)roll
