Only really three options,

Facelift Phoenix 'x'
Gardiner slx
Exceed innovation

I have the gardener slx35 and its a decent pole,

Also a facelift 25ft and facelift 18ft both full carbon 'x' models

Not sure about exceed but they have some good reviews on here.

Toss up between facelift and gardiner id say...

What ionic pole have you got?
What things do you like about it?
What don't you like?

If you're only ever going to go upto 40' odd then the Swift+ is a very good pole.

the Grafter 21ft and 32ft, They were ok as a starter but the 32 is not making it an enjoyable experience.

Is the Gardner 35ft ok to use all day instead of swapping poles all the time, ie collapsed length

Just order a section 5 butt cap and remove the bottom 2 sections and use as a 25ft pole for everyday use.
Then go up to 35ft just for the times you need to.

The grafter is absolute crap bud.
Glyder marginally better.
Swift+-lovely pole.

That is what i do but i use my S-Max 40 as a 22ft mostly much lighter and a 25ft when needed for town houses , Then for big commercial etc i add all sections on far easier and only takes seconds to add or remove sections .

someone on the same page as me finally  :)
It still amazes me that sole trading window cleaners are happy to shell out on several quality poles costing hundreds when they can only use one at a time.
Buy the best pole you can afford to the maximum height you expect to need and remove or add sections when needed.

its better to have a few poles IMO.you never know when you might need em! ;D

a good every day pole(25 ft) covers most of my work.

a high level pole pole(45-50ft)for higher windows, velux and solar panel cleaning

a spare emergency pole(22-25ft)

its far easier to just get the right size pole out of the van for the job in hand rather than faffing about with adding and removing sections from your existing pole.

plus once you buy a high level pole itll last you years and years if only using it 10-20 times a month.
price higher/work harder!

Dazmond I would have to respectfully disagree with you.
It is very easy, once modified , to add / remove sections from any make of pole - I have basically adopted exceeds hoseless pole concept. It isn't a faff, in fact I could remove 3 sections from my 40 ft pole in less time than taking the pole back to the van packing it away and reaching for a 25 ft one.
A 47 ft extreme may be a brilliant bit of kit but if only using 10 -20 times a month at the best part of a grand, would take a long time to pay for itself. ( unless bought to cover all work and remove sections when not needed)
I have a clx 27 as a spare pole, I am not disputing it is good to have a spare, but in the last 3 years there has never been an occasion where I've needed it.
I think the future innovations in wfp lie in its adaptability. Gardiners already stock extension kits, exceed has brought a new way of thinking with regards to hoseless design and making removing sections easy without having to remove and re thread hose. If budget is an issue and only buying one pole means you can have something lighter and of better quality then I think its a good suggestion and the way forward.  ;)

ive been using a clx 27,  got an extension, now 35.
i had 2 old clx poles, 18 / 27.

just been using my new one.

the old 27 has a crap bracket     its loose on the pole.      swapped sections with my other older one ,
i now have 2 clx27, one with an extension onto it,
now i need a section 2 to go onto my 18 clx.

they have just been at the back of shed for 2 years.

i now use the new 27 with the extension kept on for when needing a higher pole.

id love to give the carbon fibre poles a try to see if there is a mighty weight difference.

I am a poor window cleaner with a small round. I have only 1 pole slx 25 and 1 extension. I must say its  a pain to add on. Take cap off 25, cap off ext. unplug hose, unthread hose, add ext, thread hose, add cap. When finished repeat. Takes a few mins at least. Also the extension was a good £70. a good part towards a new pole. Always handy to have a spare pole. Much quicker in my view.

If you're looking for an all round, all I've ever used for all my domestic work for the last 4-5 years is a 30-slx from Gardiners.

Very long lasting pole, sections wear same as any other pole but I just keep tweaking the clamps to suit.

Duncan that's why I posted what I did above. It needn't take you that long, check out exceed innovations videos. It is not difficult to adapt your pole to save that faffing about. I'm not making it up or exaggerating, I honestly can change my supermax 40 to a 25 or vice versa in approx. 30 secs ! You just need to spend a little time modifying things but nothing irreversible or that drastic. I really do think that one pole with easily removable sections is going to be the way forward and is going to be a big cost saver to  sole trading window cleaners.
