Do you use hot WFP?

Just interested so see who uses hot wfp. I'm sure this has been discussed at length, however looking for an up to date opinion on the matter. You can explain your reason if you like, but its really the pole im interested in. Thanks.

Use every work day expect when the external temp rises above about 27-29c- so most of the time

Got an immersion heater - using all this week to provide tepid water to:

A) Stop freezing
B) Keep hoses supple

It works well.

i used hot last winter and this winter up until xmas(heater broke during cold spell).

i cant be bothered with it now.its just not needed.it DOESNT speed you up at all when you take in the extra faffing around getting gas bottles etc.

i was spending £52 a month on gas using it all day every day.that virtually covers my van diesel for the month!

also i was using red thermobore plus hose which is very good for hot water but its 8mm and heavy.its much easier now im back to standard 6mm microbore.

for add ons jobs i pre soak with virosol and use customers outside taps most of the time anyway so hot not needed.

as for working in freezing weather.i can work down to -2 with a cold system.any lower and i wouldnt bother anyway!

I have all the gear (L5 gas heater) but new insurance won't cover me.

First year without hot.
Have I missed it? Yeah, it's nice to work with.
Have I missed any work? Nope.
Worked this week at -6° without issue really. Water froze on conservatory windows but it didn't matter.

My fairly recently acquired hot water heater has, in my humble opinion, allowed me to plough my way through first cleans much faster than I'm used to.

Normally, I would always use a detergent on a first clean, just for my own peace of mind, so that I would know, within reason, that the glass was free of any kind of nasties. But, as a consequence of this procedure, I would incur a rather lengthy time penalty; taking anywhere from three to five times the duration of a standard clean.

Anyway, a hot water heater has allowed me to clean first time customers in just twice the time it would normally take while still achieving the same standard as when I was using a detergent.

i use a heater but i only use warm water, stops frezzing, supple hoses, warm hands, probably not as good cleaning power as hot but i dont have issues with melting hoses and all the other stuff , and its less expensive as i use normal microbore and fittings

its a good tool to have, i use it all winter, my expense on gas is about £30 for about 4 -6 weeks, i find it does give you an extra edge in terms of speed (removes stubborn stains faster) but i do work on 60psi flow rate and fan jets, dont really do a lot of rinsing.
I find other benefits such has believe it or not less leaks as everything expands and tightens up, easier to reel out and in thou i do use the power up reel system which saves a lot of wear and tear on the shoulders.......all in all its nice to have in winter.......would i spend thousands on a fitted diesel system...no...........couple of hundred on a diy system....yes
And come spring (April?) i will switch it off and only use on conny and fascia cleans

Been using hot for about 4-5 years. Only ever use it when I feel the hoses are a pain to reel in cold, which is most of the winter, or on dirty first cleans or one offs.

Immersion heaters only use when night temp is lower than 3degC much more pleasant to work with hoses etc..

Hot water all the way!!! Even in summer. Much faster cleans! Supple hose for winding up aswell. I'd never go back. I run at 55 degrees all year round.

I recently bought a van with 1000ltr thermopure and have loved the hot water. If I could change the other vans I would... Well worth it.. Not just from a cleaning perspective but from a comfort point of view and the knowledge that the cold weather won't affect it.
Was never a fan of ionics but would have another system anyday (delivery only) or will look at grippatank for next one.

Same as me all year round at a temp of around 50-60 degrees,hot water is far better than cold you would be surprised how many more stubborn Marks come off with ease with hot.yellow spots on glass made by bees etc come off easier in summer with hot also,once you've had hot water it's very difficult to go back to cold IMO it's harder work with cold
