Ive been mobile valeting as a sideline to my carpet cleaning. I dont carry my own power or water and no customer has ever suggested i should   is it worth getting a van kitted out fully does anyone else use customers power and water?  Thanks in advance

Depends on your area + your custies. I do lots of work for people in flats (brighton) so no power and water = no job...

Also depending on your local water company if you have a hosepipe ban locally, you really shouldn't use the customers hose and should carry your own water ( you may not have this problem in Llanelli )

How much am i i looking at for a baffled tank and do i need a pump in it or will it gravity feed to the pressure washer?

Baffled water tank will be around the £100-200 mark depending on Size/new/used etc..

I dont know about your PW, mine can pump/draw from a static source so I cant answer that question for you.

Thanks phil ive got one on order, and ive just secured a council contract today valeting 60 pool cars each month so tank is needed!

Worth bearing in mind that each 1L of water weighs 1 kg

So 1000L water tank = big van

I used to work in the water industry and its fine for residue from biodegradeable detergents to be discharged into storm drains (in some countries it is illegal to wash your car in the driveway),if a water authority wanted to prosecute over this or close a business down it would have to be on the back of huge legislation concerning carwashing, jetwashing, street cleaning vehicles industrial window cleaners etc. The only thing we used to stop these businesses doing was using hosepipes during bans- on board water carriers can argue they collected water over winter in water butts etc and even if they test positive for chlorine they can say they added it themself.

Hosepipe bans do not affect businesses...Drought orders might/will!
