BEST MACHINE AS BACK UP
« on: February 01, 2015, 07:02:25 pm »
well ,having had more than a few breakdowns with my truckmount, I am getting a bit P..... off with paying to have it fixed to have yet another costly repair a couple of months later, don't get me wrong when its working well it earns me a good living, but its the downtime and the hassle of letting custys down that annoys me, so I am looking for a really good back up, I am WELL confused, I don't want to go back to a porty, and was thinking of getting a PROWLER, I have had some great reports from some and also some bad reports from others, so the other thing is to maybe source a really powerful porty, so who's got what and why and any recommends will be helpful, and if anyone does run a PROWLER, what are your thoughts, cheers

None of the UK manufacturers are making a really powerful portable  , you really need series/parallel quad-vac for that .
There is the Mytee Escape with that configuration but would it be practical for you ?

I would say one of the best ' off the shelf '  heat/power options would be an Enforcer with the added back booster option and the V2 steam-mate .

I think the whole heat aspect has put some off the escape  ...
we dont seem to take to, or have the availability of the van mounted burners popular in the states .
Not sure what woodbridge have come up heat wise , small burner option i think .

You can  quite easily run a 3kw inline heater and four vacs in most situations , i do it quite regularly now  , you just need to run a thick extension to a disused room , a utility room , kitchen or its usually fine if you have the machine plugged in downstairs and the heater upstairs or vice versa .
So a 3kw heater might not keep up a high flow pump on big jets but its a practical option of you are running 300psi with about 3flow .
Not sure if the escape needs the large pump woodbridge have fitted unless u are a high pressure T&G user  . I would opt for a slightly smaller pump .
Also i would have to be clear on what motors woodbridge are fitting to the escape or are they changing it compared to the USA spec .. and i would only buy a newly ordered 2015 escape , not something lying around for months as Mytee have upgraded some of pumpout etc .
We really have an ideal electrical supply for the Escape or a machine like it  compared to the usa , shame more dont try it .

That's all very well, right up to the point where you're running multiple power cables into a customers house / property which is bound to lead to cable reach issues and objections to using so much of the customers power. And then you still haven't got a proper truck mount :o

I always unplug the heater when in use and plug back when not using...water stays hot and no electrical issues......by the time I've prepped the rooms the thermostat as usually switched off anyway.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

I have used a drop in emersion heater for the last eight years, and again I dont use it with the machine on, I just plug it in whilst I am preparing the room and switch it off when I am ready to start cleaning

The thing is with the Escape, you can still use it as a portable if needed as it has wheels,
try doing that with a Propper Truck Mount Simon

that must have been the older version mate ! The new one has a 2500 psi pump and locking wheels so
is completely portable, coupled with 4 vacs, how much power do you want ?

We need that kind of power for certain applications, so it is a matter of needs must.
