Not a material I have come across in the 10 years I have been running, have not been and inspected as yet, assuming don't over wet, use Haitian cotton cleaner ? And dry rapidly so I don't get water marks, scrims are made from linen and they take a battering and can be boiled

Did just find this online, really wouldn't go near anything using petrol myself !!!

Grease is another typical problem with linen upholstery. Grease stains can be removed with the help of a small amount of petrol or trichloroethylene. Dab the stains, then spread talc on the area and brush it off thoroughly. Rinse thoroughly the treated area with water and let to dry. -
