i tried 3 different types of cleaner today tfr,upvc cleaner and solvent cleaner , the solvent cleaner came out on top for pvc but the tfr did make a nice job of the conservatory roof we did
here is a before and after of it , it took about 30-40 mins to do and charged £40

Thats pretty good, but why not also do the outside of the guttering, it sorta spoils the look of all your hard work.

GLR how did you apply the tfr to the conservatory roof i assume it comes in a 25l or 5l drum ...
I have been using a solvent cleaner to clean pvc and it cleans well but evaporates really quickly and a dirty cloth will remark any clean pvc .

netto are selling hand pumped backpacks so i bought 2 they are only £9.99 each ,and i used one of these to spray the tfr onto the roof then used wfp and an old brush to clean off

tfr can be harsh be careful what strenth you use ,this can fade the pvc in question .belive me  shammy davis knows when it comes to conservatories ....

Haven't heard of TFR before, what is it exactly? How much does it cost? And where do you get it from?

Hi Ian.

Its  Traffic Film Remover. Hence the TFR.

It's pretty aggresive stuff but used as per instructions its a great product. You can get it all over the place mainly from anyone selling car or vehicle maintenance products or maybe a decent local cleaning chemicals company. The term TFR is also generic there are many different brands that do what it says.. that is remove traffic film. I just saw some on a site at £35ish for 25 ltrs.  Google for TFR and have fun

andrew what is the best ratio to dilute it for pvc i did about 20-1 is this ok or what would you do

Hi Gary

It all depends on how concentrated it is in the 1st place.  You do have to be carefull not to put it on the UPVC too strongly concentrated so always read the instructions. I find around 20 to 1 to be mostly OK though.

Ohh and NEVER  .. NEVER use a bleach based product on UPVC...  it goes a very nice shade of yukky yellow.. permanently!!!
