Got a "Can you clean mine today" a few months ago.
Cleaned, knocked for the money "Can't find my purse can you call back tonight? I'm in every night after 6."
Called twice - two nights, no one home, finally caught her on the Saturday.
"I've called twice like you said after 6 but there was no one in."
"Well, the windows weren't cleaned properly anyway, they were all streaky.
"What, even when they dried off?"
"Yes."
"But they look O.K. now, there's not a mark on them, look at the difference in the frames, and all the bird muck has gone."
"Well they weren't cleaned properly."

Working today over the road - head out of bedroom window caked with bird muck "Can you clean mine today?"
Bad enough -  then she added "And I'll pay you next week."

Oh yes she paid but needless to say First and only clean she was going to get off me!!!!
I've learned that a lot of time when they say "They were all streaky" they mean they were left wet, not bladed off (WFP) still a bit of a novelty in some parts of darkest Yorkshire.

Reminds me of a custy a few years back , wife asks me to leave it for 2 months , i leave it for 3 and restart , go back in the evening for my tenner , husband comes out and says the wife didnt ask you to start again , i tell him what she told me and they look at each other and shrug , he then turns to me and tells me hes not paying and shuts the door.
I was gobsmacked , so much so that i get in the van and carry on collecting , on the way home my blood starts to boil.
The next day i go back dump the van on his drive and walk around the house with a pressure sprayer full of muddy water for the final rinse !
That night he phones and goes mental , i explained that i took the dirt off and as he didnt pay i put it back on again 

It ended with threats of local papers and that i would never work in the street again , i told him to fill his boots.
I did however get the last laugh , 2 years later i moved in to the street 6 doors down , i love driving past him now , i can see his blood boiling every time

Think I would get another assault charge. There all a bunch of ********. I would egg the windows. Get that off then. They cant prove you did it, yet they know its you

Picked up a new custy  last year outlined the payment terms of paying bacs said she was more than happy with that told her it would be 4 weeks before i could clean .

It took me 3-4 months to get my money , when i spoke to her she said she was'nt prepared to pay via Bacs as the windows were not great after clean she had my contact details but did'nt get in touch .

I told her i would have called back straight away if she had got in touch and said she was not happy with the service .

many years ago (back in the 70's) when I was a trad cleaner a women asked me to take her on as a customer

me: do you want it done regular?
her: yes please
me: if you are not in I will just get on and do them and collect the money later
her: that's fine


so I arrive the following month take the ladder around the back of the house and make a start, whilst doing the down stairs I notice that she and her husband are both in,
then I clean the front of the house put the ladder back on the van roof then knock the door for payment

her husband comes to the door, I politely ask for my money......

him: i'm not paying you
me: why not
him: because I did not ask you to clean them
me: no but your wife did and asked me to clean them monthly
him: well I don't want you to so i'm not paying


by now i'm fuming and did something I should not have done but I was a lot younger then

me: would you agree that the windows were dirty when I arrived?
him: yes
me: are they clean now?
him: yes
me: not for much longer..... watch carefully as I put them back in the condition there were when I arrived

I then tipped some soapy water from my bucket onto his flower bed, mixed it up to make it muddy then I rubbed my applicator into the mud
I then went around all the bottom windows and rubbed the dirty applicator all over his windows

it goes without saying he was going mad at me

me: are you going to pay now?
him: no infact i'm going to call the police and I know some heavy friends that will get you
me: so you are going to get me arrested and then beaten up by your mates?
him: you bet
me: in that case i may as well get my monies worth

so I walk back to the van untie my ladder and do the same thing to the upstairs windows,
suffice to say his face was a picture

I then left him alone and suggested he find another cleaner to clean his windows as they looked filthy

out of interest I never got arrested or indeed I never met his heavy friends LOL

for months I drove down that road as I had another job nearby and I smiled every time I passed it looking at his dirty windows

would I do the same thing these days? I don't think so as I've grown up and matured a bit
