Can anyone tell me how these compare in stiffness to the vikan stiff sill brush and if Alex is reading this, when are your new sill brushes out and how do they differ from your existing ones, cheers Nick

The red vikan is suitable for sweeping floors.

Stiff sill brush is not as stiff but better for cleaning.

i have the dual trim stiff gardinars brush. had it 2 weeks. i,ll never use viking or brodex again.

the stiff red vikan sill brush is heavier than a brick!i scratched a polycarbonate roof with it years ago.the bristles are VERY stiff.i never used it again.

the gardiners stiff sill is good for f/s/g and conny roofs.thats what i use mine for.10 times lighter and bristles not as stiff.

Thanks for replies, next question is then, Gardiners dont reccomend it for leaded and georgian but how much of that is them covering their backs. Anyone use it on these without problem? Cant be arsed with changing brushes for different jobs,using one brush for all at the mo (not the vikan stiff) and like it that way but neck and back seem to be constantly playing up so looking for lighter alternative. I dont get on with the Gardiners dual trim sill on an everyday basis, its just not man enough for my liking, goes out of shape quickly and doesnt last as long as id like it to ,hence the questions about the gardiners stiff sill brush.

I use the Gardiners stiff sill brush for everything including leaded and Georgian.
I just use a little less pressure on leaded.

Depends on the angle of your brush.
If you pull down with the brush horizontal, there is at least one row of bristles at the perfect angle for lifting the lead away from the glass.
If the brush is used side to side while horizontal, you'll be fine.

The new Sill brushes, when they arrive will be a evolutionary, rather than a revolutionary, product. They will have an improved stock with twin jet holes and improved glass cleaning bristles with increased longevity. The actual bristle material will not be any different although they will feature a new hybrid version and a wide version.

Alex, if the bristles are the same material then how will they have increased longevity?
My only guess is that they could be a slightly different shape or the bristles have been shortened so they bend less?
