« on: January 19, 2015, 09:32:15 am »
Right that's it - frozen rock solid! Looking at an 8LPM boiler, I've use a flow of 1.25LPM will the 8LPM be ok or will I need a 6LPM? Cheers lads   :(

Will that stop your hose reels and pole hose from freezing up overnight?

No point in thawing van out if your jets freeze on first job.

Immersion heater in your tank would be a better bet for this type of weather,it will keep your van warm and
heat your water at the same time.

Not everyone can park off-road and run a cable to their van all night though.

mine was frozen this morning, put my trusty £10 asda heater in for 20 mins and all thawed out, got the lpg heater going and worked great all day and kept my hands warm.

Interesting idea.

Got me thinking.  Have you got a link to the one you have bought for our needs?

There's a few immersion install videos on YouTube.

How long would it take a 2kw to heat 350L to around 20-30c

It would be handy if someone who knows about 8 or 6 LPM could answer the question! ;D

Here's a calculator. 2nd formula calculator down.

You will need to add time for heat loss whilst the heating element is switched on.

The water inside our IBC tank in the garage is just above freezing. Water was freezing on the glass of a council building I did yesterday morning and the water took ages to deice it on each pane. So I doubt its any more than 3 or 4 degrees C. If this is correct then your calculation would need to consider a 15 to 25 degree C temperature rise.
