Frozen......
« on: January 19, 2015, 09:11:29 am »
I've got an immersion heater, but never used it last night; consequently my hose reels and transfer pump hose is frozen; my brushes are like rock too.

It took nearly an hour to fill my tank, after fannying about defrosting the transfer hose, and I've got a heater in the back of the van now defrosting that.

**Sigh**

Anyone else?

I'm having a day off anyway.  I procrastinated on my accounts and am visiting the accountant tonight.  I'm putting it in readable form for him first, wading through receipts and entering them into the spreadsheet, so it's a day of paperwork.  I really should do this as I go along.  The bonus is that I've done most of the following year's too.  I will be bringing everything up to date in the coming days - and keeping it up to date.  I always used to do that but got a bit sloppy in recent years.
So, a nice warm day for me - I'm pretty much up to date with the cleaning so no issue with that.  We've escaped the worst of the bad weather in the southeast (so far).

I'd rather shove Kosovan wasps up my bottom (they're really aggressive wasps; think of Scottish people in wasp form; just not as Gingery and they don't smell like men's toilets).

Bit warmer +2 but snowing and breezy will make a mess of windows so hanging on a bit for it to clear

Not sure were you live, but North East was -4 last night. The only form of heater I use is a small fan heater, plugged into a timer switch that I put on from 9pm-12pm then 6am until 8.30am.
You can set it for every other hour if you 100% want everything warm but it does the job for me:)
Get them from the cheap shops.

And people say hot water freezes quicker than cold............

My lpg heater is making its money again for me today when others in my area are not working. :)

We had a good day in the end.  I'll make sure I set the timer on the tanks immersion heater for tomorrow. :P

Plopped my aquarium heater in the van tank last night and awoke to a tank full of warmish water.
Set off this morning at 9am, outside temperature was -2 but still got a respectable day done without any problem.
Gotta be on the ball this week in prepping the van for the next day's work as it's gonna be cold all week.  ;)
